Arite, this is a flat up question.

capped caster. Can max ALL skills associated with the DS plusses of any skill.

like shield use gets a minor modification from skill A training, skill B training.

like twohanded weapon combat *runestaves* gets a minor modification from skill A training, skill B training..

Anyways

What will win out and be the most DS possible? Reminder, the character can max everything associated with whatevers best, so dont leave anything out, no matter HOW small the bonus. Thanks guys!

What other skill helps shield DS?

The % gain by training in 2hders isn't more than the % gain by training in magical ranks. I'm not sure how beyond cap you'd need to be to 'max' out both.

Hell if you got the points max shield, brawl and dodge. WOoT!

Is this hypothetical, or are you being serious right now?

That'd probably give the most DS in offensive, but I still don't see it beating out 12+ magical ranks for guarded runestaff DS...

So If you're going to be lazy like me and sit in offensive for channeling, Shield+Brawl+Dodge will be the most DS.

If you're like most other people and you dance, or channel from guarded, Runestaff + lots of magical ranks.

This is legit.

What exact training do I need to max either one, and if you know *not required* tell me what the training does.

like shield use gives you shield bonus DS
dodging gives you a DS bonus training up in it

i donno what else

Runestaff...no clue. i dont waggle. hecne the question now. NOT hypothetical. I do need help. Thanks.

Dodge gives you DS regardless of what you train in, so you want to max it regardless.

Edit:
To max out runestave DS you'd have to max every skill that counts as a magical rank, max Dodge, and max 2hders.

To max out shield DS you'd have to max out Dodge, Brawl, Shield.

I don't think anyone's evern done the first route completely.

Shield is the way to go for a capped pure since both capped hunting areas have disarming critters. 100% no disarm. You can get disarmed even if you have 5 ranks in disarm as a pure.

so shield/brawl/dodge would be best for me eh?

Dodge is not worth the TP. Shield/brawl should keep you busy for awhile. When your done with that you should be fine on DS if your 3x spells too.

spells are done. shield/brawl/dodge can all be done. hence why i am asking *grin*. There are a TON of spare TP's. it's not the issue. I'm just saying, shield/dodge/brawl will bring me the most viable hunting bit I need ya?

If you don't care about the TP cost, yes. Shield/Dodge/Brawl wins.

What profession? There is always something better to spend TP on than dodge as a pure IMO.

cleric.

nother question...

Whats it take to be able to read absolutely any scroll?

50 ranks should do it I think.

Absolute best defense for a pure would be 1x Dodge, 1x weapon with holding 10x weapon (or some sort of insane defender weapon), 1x shield using a 10x buckler. You would also want MOC to never lose DS due to swarms. It is a bit of a stretch in logic, but you would also want 5 ranks in that CM that gives you DS as well. Short of scroll/MIU tanking, that is Self-spelled highest DS.

And 101 ranks in all three spell circles

I don't know. I think the Brawl/Shield is best bang for the buck but if you're talking in total theory couldn't you get like 20+ magical ranks per level if you train in all the out of sphere stuff to max?

You still lose out on the 50 DS from a 10x shield, the flat shield bonus, worse bolt DS, and most importantly, you can be disarmed.

No way would I ever give up shields with Jayvn..I don't even have brawl..i run around otf in offense, self spells..never getting disarmed... it's pretty much ez mode.

Question: Assuming you always had Rank 5 Fluidity, how far would you move up in armor?

droit

I'd still stop at hauberk. It takes 310 AU ranks to train MBP ranger circle hindrance to its minimum, and fuck that.

Well since Clerics can only single the max would be some sort of chain below hauberk.

Was thinking maybe double chain. But since it doesn't cover everything I'm curious if people would still stay in like brig or doubles over it.

Sorry, I thought it was a general question for the masses. Didn't realize it was for clerics specifically.
