Susan Boyle's performance is simply amazing and absolutely stuns the judges. Simon actually smiles with pure joy.

Know how I know you’re gay? Well, because I know you are.

But, yeah, pretty cool.

Nobody cares about your homosexual encounters.

Yeah, pretty not cool.

Because you're gay and you can tell when other people are gay?

Actually? Thats funny, but you’ll never, ever, know why.

I think the song selection was good because it wasn't the usual pop crap the other contestant usually spew out. She sounded great but be honest, how much of the audience reaction was due to her voice belying her appearance?

Glad to hear it. The less we know about you the better.

99.9%

The only other way something would have caused a reaction like that is if she was like 8yrs old with that voice to match, and even then probably not as surprising.

I could have sworn she said she was singing a song from the wizard of oz.. I spent half the clip trying to figure out when the hell that song was in the movie. Then I looked to the side and saw it was Les Miserables.

Tisket, I said the same thing to Gretchen in the opening minute as I was very cynical.

Then I just enjoyed the song.

And, if she goes far, I think she'd have a career honestly, not all professional singers are pop dance divas.

Lots travel with orchestras, opera, new age music, etc, where looks and showing up on the red carpet events do not count.

Obviously. It was a good solid performance. It simply was not deserving of a standing ovation however.

Honestly it was moving because she actually got the chance. How many years has she been sitting in a shit village with all the potential without a chance and finally got one.

Cheerio bitch!

The show's directors' are pretty slick about messing with people's low expectations and surprising the audience. It's a good formula, you take an average looking person with a fine voice, and give them an impressive soundtrack to sing to.

It reminds me a lot of this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA&feature=related)

Granted, the guy turned out to be a small time, well trained, wanna be opera performer, but they sure played it up well.

I wish the crowd would stfu while she's singing and I wish Amanda Holden was stroking my face with her face this moment.
I liked the act a lot. Nice lady.

It was on Britain's got Talent, not Saturday Night at the Palladium. Of course it was deserving of a standing ovation. The usual standard of performance is performing dogs and jugglers. She kicked arse.

Go Go Supergran!

You know how I know you're gay?

Because you mocked an epic song from a story that covers such massive issues as why young men go to war and the good things they sacrifice to do so, the struggles of the poor to survive, the sacrifices that parents will make just to give their kids a fighting chance at life, the injustice of the world's legal systems, the ability of men to repent for past sins, the validity of revenge, and how a good deed can profoundly affect other people's lives for the better.

You, sir, are clearly gay, and need to stop overcompensating.

I've seen him try to attempt/beg to cyber with one hell of a woman and I know he was beth baptized so perhaps he isn't a complete gay but just a pedobear.

That adds to her charm. She planted her brow in a grobag for weeks leading up to that presentation, just to caricature herself a bit more.

Worked, too!

You, sir, are clearly gay, and need to stop overcompensating. You sure you're talking about the right song from Le Mis?

Sounds like your describing Bring him home...which is always better when sung by a barbershop group, wish I could find the platinum recording but Vocal Spectrum isn't bad altough their solo isn't as good.

I was saying the STORY covers those issues, not that particular song. But sure, "Bring him home" fits too.
