Not to mention if you open void, anything in the room that's stunned will almost always get vaporized.

Unless they nerfed that too.

Best use would be to get that big stun from the MOC on a focused shot, then follow with an open void ASAP before they shake it. Don't bother closing it. You're in a war camp.

Swami71

Grimswarm just don't stay stunned long enough. Most I've gotten is 2 in an open void. I'll try more.

Maybe E-wave first, then focused implosion, then implosion. The hard RT might stop them from shaking it.

Open voids aren't that great in warcamps. Too stun resistant and they are smart enough to dispell it fairly quick. They also wear heavy armors and I get the messaging that the full plate absorbs the blow a lot.

I found running a void with a maelstrom helps keep the crowds occupied. Only the initial cast effects the shroud. I tend to limb disrupt everything and pick off the stragglers as I go.

I've managed a few 2-3000 hits with 720. Sheruvian Harbingers in the broken lands I think. Same place I've managed some 12-15 single cast clears of open 720. granted I've always had about 30min worth of crumbly creature drops in the room, but still. one cast and the ensuing scroll from 100 plus items on the ground flying through the air and the deaths of 14 sheruvians in the room is a beautiful thing. :)

When you see a large number like that, it means you did the exact amount of HP damage the creature had left. For instance, Griffins have 499 health.

Repeated aoe attacks in the same room (adjacent rooms too? Forgot how far the ripples reach) will eventually cause a backlash, but you can get away with at least a few before that happens.

Must be a high level thing.

At level 40, I used to walk into a warcamp, setup a 710. When the grimswarm swarmed, I'd 410 them all, then 710 would stun them all, cast 720 and about 20 of them would die. No MOC needed there. Fried in about 30 seconds...

Of course this was "back in the day" right before they put in the lashback effects. Might not work anymore.

They range from super easy to un-fucking-reasonable.

I just encountered a grizzled mage that had a BARDIC TD of 483. You can expect it was something around 520+ for other circles.

Most aren't that bad.

It's also highly dependent on the type of creature you're trying to kill. Squares have shitty TD, spirituals have good STD, and mages have good ETD.

316 followed by 720 works very well. Took out 6 Grimswarm for the cost of 36 mana. Works just as well on giants too.

[Warcamp, Outside]
Three beaten paths break off in a northerly direction, curving around a number of poorly built huts and tents. A pile of broken bones and rotting flesh compete with a pile of steaming offal for the most nauseating odor available. Over the top of the tents, a tall wooden flagpole marks the center of the warcamp just ahead, while a broad dirt path leads south to the sole entrance and exit of the encampment. You also see a Grimswarm troll paladin that appears to be frozen in place, a Grimswarm troll ranger that appears to be frozen in place, a Grimswarm troll cleric that appears to be frozen in place, a Grimswarm troll guard that appears stunned, a weathered Grimswarm troll wrathbringer that appears to be frozen in place, a Grimswarm troll empath that appears to be frozen in place, an ayanad crystal and a rune staff.

You have that massive CS, which really makes the spell shine. A good trick to use in regular hunting is keep your demon with you, use Eye Spy, and have the demon carry the eye. You write a script where the demon releases the eye, preps and casts 717, then the demon picks the eye back up. And there you are. An effective (With a 540ish CS that is) Mass killer/Disabler. I played around with it in OTF but Ithzir get retarded resistances to the spell. You should be able to own with that in Nelemar. I don't think demons work at all in the camps, and I don't think eyes can be told to move there either. Still, as you saw it works well enough if you just prep/cast 708 for each room you move into.

Swami71
06-18-2009, 09:47 AM
I thought you were meaning it as a setup spell to 720 at first. It is a good spell to cast when they swarm and you don't want to deal with them. They either get stunned, run, or dead. Thats a good idea on the script for the demon too. Problem with Nelemar is the critters that are a problem it won't work on (GWE's and Sentry's). Good for warcamps as a backup since I just camp in one spot anyways.

With that high of a CS, you should be able to drop Scout, Jans, Heralds, and MAYBE Initiates in OTF with 717. Seers are right out. They have a 500 TD against it. Adepts are high, but not that insane. Constructs are immune, but you should be able to drop Griffins fairly well too.
