Interesting article. It demonstrates what happens when you put materialism above your basic human rights. The woman whose husband is in jail did no research before agreeing to live there on what sort of regime she would have to live under, she is completely ignorant of the world.

The people with no regard for the servant class are the epitomy of selfish. When I go to Asia I stay with family that have live-in maids and it's just about the most uncomfortable thing ever for me. I think having to do at least some of the basics in life builds character. Having to have someone there 24 hours a day so you "never have to lift a finger" is, for lack of better words, pathetic.

Dubai looks nowhere near failing since the ruling class loves the Sheikh, who plays nice with the West.
