Alright so I've been tinkering a bit with a bard. Im going for polearm user that can sing decently to gems/items etc etc... I wanna make sure I set my stats properly so I'm not swinging a lance at 100seconds. Also due to his race I did want to set his strength and con at relatively decent levels so I wont be too screwed. Any advice hints/tips/hunting suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this'll be the 1st time I've played one. My thing is I'm not sure what additional skills would benefit me the best at this stage in a bards career. Thanks.

Re-roll and do better at the character selection screen for race selection! :)

Or, as the player of a forest gnome maul swinger... get to be good friends with a wizard, get used to not being able to carry more than one small box at a time, and stock up on deeds.

That being said? I love my little gnome, even though he's far from mechanically perfect.

As far as training? At this point you're doing fine. You're basically a weapon swinger, with a few extra points thrown in where you can manage it. I fixskilled when I hit 25 (which was too early, by the way), but you can just be a generic melee fighter with your sonic stuff, then fixskill right before the May 20th reset.

Picking things up wouldnt be an issue since he's being MA'ed with a wizard. As far as loresinging is there a particular "Level" in which you're able to get the information.

At which point do swinging bards switch over from bard circle to elemental circle in order to get 425/430? Hows the stat placement for him as well? Thanks again.

As a bard, a halfling is in pretty damn good shape. The standard build swings a heavy weapon (to which you will get a hefty RT reduction), and the weight of their armor and weapon is 1 coin (meaning the encumbrance won't be as damaging). There's penalties in both of the primary stats, but they're -5 which isn't too bad. I'd drop dodge down to 0.5x so you have some extra points to distribute here and there (24 ranks of MMC for example).

at about level 30ish your loresong should be strong enough to get all spells/info available out of the item unless you fail at loresongs
