OCALA - Two West Port High School students were suspended from school and could be charged criminally for allegedly having oral sex in a darkened classroom while their classmates were watching a film two weeks ago.

Police say the students, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were in a group that was watching a video with the lights down low on Jan. 30. The students reportedly left the group and moved to a corner of the room, where the boy pulled down his pants and the girl began performing oral sex on him. They reportedly tried to conceal their actions with a jacket, but several students could see what was occurring.

A substitute teacher was supervising the class at the time.

Four students reported the incident to the assistant principal. After looking into the case, the school determined that the act between the students was consensual, notified their parents, and suspended them for 10 days.

School officials reported the incident several days later to a school resource officer, who began investigating on Feb. 9. The students who reported the incident told the officer that both students had done this before in class when the lights were dimmed, a report on the incident states.

"I'm appalled by this sort of behavior from any student and I think they should be expelled," said Sue Mosley, a Marion County School Board member. "Other students shouldn't have to be subjected to this kind of behavior. It's time to take a stand and stop allowing this type of behavior in our schools."

West Port High School Principal, Ken Vianello, said the school is considering sending one of the students to another school to protect them from harassment. Vianello was also trying to determine why there was a delay in reporting the incident to the school resource officer.

"I can't comment on the dates because I don't know much about it," he said, "but what I can tell you is that if there's a problem at the school, we report it to our school resource officer."

The State Attorney's Office is said to be looking into the incident, but State Attorney's officials would not comment Friday.

The students could be charged with any of a number of sex crimes, including lewd and lascivious conduct, molestation or battery.

While the school district's Student Code of Conduct does not specifically address kids having sex in school, it does state that a "sex offense" can lead to suspension or even expulsion.

Yeah that's good work by him. Either she's a total slut and slightly crazy or he can spit game with the best of them. Probably a combination of the two.

I'm suprised that it even happened twice, and they were not reprimanded from the beginning. What kind of supervision do these students have anyway?..

The kind of supervision I want.

They're teenagers, raging hormones etc. They should be suspended... but they should extend the suspension to the supervising staff as well.

Kudos to the guy. Getting a BJ at 14. Seriously, what is suspending those two going to do? Or explusion?

If the school would make them do reports on sex education out the yang, it would sway them from doing it in school again. It wouldn't me if I was that age but hey, my hormones were raging at that age.

They couldn't even wait til they got out of school?

The need for instant gratification - we've taught our kids it.

What are you talking about? You're 19 and still haven't got head. The farthest you've got is biting a nipple, and it was a guys! AND we have pictures to prove it!

I dated a girl in HS just because I heard she put out to just about everyone. My luck she went straight just before she dated me. Bitch.

I dont think it so much had to do with instant gratification as I would assume to show off. They both need some counseling.

See, I went to an all guys high school. We didn't have this problem.

Well, except for a few kids, but blatant out of the closetness in an all guys school is limited, it's hard enough to get through high school without being constantly beaten on by guys who need to prove their heteroness since they're at an all guys school.

Just from watching the Simpsons, these kids should know that narc'ing people out is almost as bad as the crime. Was anyone being hurt by the couples' actions? Probably not. Are people in deep shit now because they tattled? You bet your ass.

Preface: I'm not against sexuality in the least, I think it should be spoken of openly and shared.

Now...
If I was that boy's father, punish him via restriction (no cell, no tv, no games, no computer, etc -- punishment isn't locking in a room with all of the above), show him some STD flicks, and teach him something about respect, humility and honor. Women are to be respected, not whored.

If I was the girl's father, I'd do the same. Then I'd probably wonder why I raised a slut.

You folks that are cheering them on, what if that was your sister or brother? Daughter or son?

You folks that are cheering it, would you pull out your cock and let your significant other blow you in public (or would you suck cock in public). Its disgusting. Where is the respect for yourself and others today?

You know its sad but its true. My high school was so bad for teen sex and pregnancy we had a fucking daycare for mothers who had kids and still went there. It's sad but the same year I graduated my cousin was going to my old middle school and he was talking about some 11 year old girl having a baby? 11 years old thats insane, at 11 I was still to busy playing video games and wanting to be a tomboy, wasn't even thinking of having sex let alone a child.

It seems kids are growing up to quick now a days, and its sad to a point but really it seems they have to with all the shit going around. Also makes you wonder where the hell are the parents in most of the cases?

Though oral sex also uses ones mouth, its still a wee bit different from speaking openly about it.

Skimisher pretty much covered it. by openly and shared, I mean education and not letting it be stigmatized.

I personally think the huge problem we are having with underage sex and such stems from the way the US has treated Sex in general. We made it so taboo that its now seen as over the edge and exciting. Check out Europe and stuff..they have nude ladies and guys on TV ads, no blurry pictures or crap. Its a natrual part of being human.

I don't believe sex is something that should happen in public. I honestly don't believe I am a prude but maybe you'd label me one. I simply don't think people should have their hands down each others pants or giving oral sex to their partner in a public place. It makes you look like trash and it truly is disrespectful of the people around you. If people want to see that, they'll go rent a porno. Anyone who does it in public is a piece of trash, that's just it.

Agreed. The entire Janet Jackson nipple incident is a prime example of how ridiculous it's become. Sex is bad, the body is sinful, blah blah blah. The forbidden is always more attractive than the known and sex is a way to rebel against their parents and authority.

That being said, I'd suspend them so fast their heads would spin. 14 year olds should not be having sex. And even more than that, a class room is not the place for it. It's time for them to learn the price of stupidity and lack of self control. I don't care if they did it more than once or not. One time is more than enough.

Raven

edited to add:

I'd also make certain they attended sex ed classes as part of their punishment. Several hours of learning just how many STDs can be transmitted via oral sex might prove educational for them. of course, I'm wondering if they even have sex ed in that school. That might be part of the problem.

Let's see.. we had lots of DARE, teaching about drugs, about why drugs are bad for you... then lots of classes where you were given pictures of the skeleton and had to label all the bones and pictures of the muscles and do the same. But we never really had sex ed. Even our actual sex ed class, the teacher never taught.

We had lots of stuff besides sex ed...we just had sex ed for like, a month and a half or so a year. It was taught by nurses.

educating people doesn't work when the people you try to educate are idiots. if you want to get people to do something, do the tried and true way. enslave their minds and force them to think whatever it is they should. its the most reasonable way of achieving what we all ultimately want. all you idealistic people with your whole education solves everything solution really make me shake my head.

I had sex-ed classes every year from 5th grade until 11th grade. I wouldn't expell the kids, I would give them Saturday Dentention every weekend for the rest of the year, and for three months they would have I.S.S. rather than normal classes. Every Saturday I would make them write at least a 4 page paper about a different STD and/or children and teen pregnancy. Since they were in I.S.S. they wouldn't be allowed to attend school events and in order to get out of I.S.S. they would have to give a public apology about how their actions were wrong in front of their class. I'd be a mean ass principal.

Heh, this reminded me of South Park (many ridiculous situations do) where the 4th graders were going to be taught sex ed. Ms. Chokesondick did nothing but talk about pregnancies and STD's and how it's all the boy's fault. The girls then would run away from the boys whenever they were near, for fear of pregnancy and getting herpes or something. <snickers> Maybe they should actually do that.
