Kamkor whispers, "Meteor me!"

>look
[Dragonspine and Krodera]
The street widens into a circular plaza several hundred feet across. Dwarves and giantmen lounge on stone benches by a massive granite fountain in the center. The burbling of the waters, the low mumblings of the dwarves and the booming laughter of the giants somehow blend together into a vibrant harmony. You also see the fiery red Sebastus disk, a blue-banded speckled toucan that is sleeping, a wrought iron sign, a lava tube and a pristine hulking giant statue.
Also here: Cylla who is sitting, Jeg, Moriendi who is sitting, Great Lord Kamkor, Sadrae
Obvious paths: north, east, south, west

You chuckle at Kamkor.

You ponder.

You quietly whisper to Kamkor, "Too many witnesses."

Kamkor leans over and whispers, "Outside of town then."

You giggle at Kamkor.

You adopt an agreeable expression.

You ask, "Anyone else wanna come watch a meteor swarm?"

Kamkor grins.

You say, "Disclaimer: I will be the halfling running like mad after I cast... you can all stay as long as you like."

You attempt to hum a merry little tune.

Kamkor joins your group.
Sadrae joins your group.
Sadrae whistles tunelessly to herself.

You say, "Join up for the show."

You giggle.

Sadrae says, "You know im gonna watch."
Kamkor deeply exclaims, "I wanna see rocks fly!"

You giggle to yourself.

You say, "Hokay..."

You stare upward.

{hike to remote area}

You ponder.

>justice status
There is no justice other than your own out here.

You say, "No justice other than my own."

You nod sagely.

You disband your group.
Your group status is now closed.

Your group status is now open.

You giggle.

Kamkor grins evilly.

You ask, "Allrighty then... we ready?"

Kamkor lies down.

Kamkor gazes up into the heavens.

Kamkor deeply exclaims, "Show me!"

You say, "After I cast, we got about 20 seconds to leave if we're gonna."

You attempt to hum a merry little tune.

>mswarm
Voodoo 'mswarm' to 'PREPARE 525', 'CAST'.
You intone a phrase of elemental power while raising your hands, invoking Meteor Swarm...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture.
You throw your arms skyward!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

A low roar of quickly parting air can be heard above!

You attempt to hum a merry little tune.

You mutter thousandtwo.

Kamkor grins at you.

You mutter thousandthree.

Kamkor laughs!

You gaze up into the heavens.

You gulp.

Much to your horror, a devastating inferno of flaming rocks ignite the entire sky and smite the area!

Kamkor is brutally battered by the burning projectiles, taking 111 points of damage!
... 45 points of damage!
Right leg collapses as the bones turn to dust!
He is stunned!
... 70 points of damage!
Back burnt to the bone. Smoke curls up from what's left of Kamkor.

* Kamkor drops dead at your feet!

Kamkor becomes solid again.
Sadrae is brutally battered by the burning projectiles, taking 98 points of damage!
... 45 points of damage!
Strike to temple cracks skull open!

* Sadrae drops dead at your feet!

The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Sadrae.
The light blue glow leaves Sadrae.
The air calms down around Sadrae.
The bright luminescence fades from around Sadrae.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around Sadrae.
Sadrae glances around, looking a bit less confident.
The white light leaves Sadrae.
The very powerful look leaves Sadrae.
A shadow seems to detach itself from Sadrae's body, swiftly dissipating into the air.
Sadrae becomes solid again.
The silvery luminescence fades from around Sadrae.
Sadrae returns to normal color.
The deep blue glow leaves Sadrae.
The powerful look leaves Sadrae.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding Sadrae suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.
The air about Sadrae stops shimmering.
Sadrae seems a bit less imposing.
Sadrae seems to lose some dexterity.

You are brutally battered by the burning projectiles, taking 51 points of damage!
... 70 points of damage!
Blow to your back removes the spinal column!

Spell Stone Skin (520) ended.
The layer of stone surrounding you crumbles away.
Spell Elemental Bias (508) ended. [-20ETD]
You feel your extra magical awareness leave you.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You realize that you have no outstanding favors which Lorminstra owes you, and without having accomplished a deed for Her, your soul is in danger of vanishing from the land forever!

...departing in 16 mins...
* Sebastus just became one with the ground. Ohmmm...
* Sadrae is feeding the worms!
* Kamkor just croaked!

The fiery red Sebastus disk disintegrates, dropping everything on the ground.

The ghostly voice of Sadrae exclaims, "Holy crap!"

Several flaming rocks burst from the sky and smite the area!

You say, "Boom."

You giggle eerily.

Several flaming rocks burst from the sky and smite the area!

A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal NiceFoggerGuy.
A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal SweetFoggerGirl.

The ghostly voice of Kamkor deeply exclaims, "RuN!"

You say, "Swarming."

The ghostly voice of Kamkor deeply exclaims, "Run!"

You say, "Run."

NiceFoggerGuy just went northeast.

The ghostly voice of Kamkor deeply says, "Meteor swarm."

SweetFoggerGirl just went south.

Several flaming rocks burst from the sky and smite the area!

{getting fogged and healed, then lying in wait for a cleric...}

The ghostly voice of Kamkor deeply says, "That was awsome."

It is a damn powerful spell. Nuadjha and I (mostly him) cooked up the good idea of using Shell armor in conjunction to meteor swarm. Obviously you could just step a few rooms away, but I think actually remaining in a protective shell during the storm would be cool.

i used to hunt with that in Pinefar when it first opened. Sabre Tooths and Ice Wraiths were so fun. Of course, it was never hunted and safe. And so fun.

It is one of the few spells that still say, " I am a Wizard and master of all things elemental."

I think it says more along the lines of "I have a spell I can't fucking use because it will kill me."

I used it in Teras when I played all the time. I forget what area though, wind wraiths sound familiar? dust devils? something like that.

525 a few times and go inside a hut, use familiar to see when it ends

I have never once used it, but mostly because I was fed tall tales of the GMs having an alert whenever someone uses it, and quickly moving in to punish them.

Anyone give you any crap for playing around with it?

Isn't that against policy of some sort?
Sorcs got open implode nerfed didn't they for that reason. You can't learn from open rifts in lots of rooms killing critters.
Unless I'm wrong.

Pretty sure you're wrong. I open void fairly regularly (3-5 times a month), and I think I wouldn't notice if I didn't get exp for it.

Yeah, the GM's notice when you cast it, but as long as you dont kill anyone with it, I dont think it's an issue.

Should you be hunting with it, kill someone, they complain, I'm sure the GMs would harass you.

When I played, I was a cockknocker who did shit to piss people off... so I frankly wouldnt give a shit if I killed someone or got yelled at.

Probably why I quit, I as a hair away from being banned.

At least I'm honest.

I mean can you gain exp for a critter getting vaped in another room with a void in it where you walked away?

Plus we're evil sorcerors, don't tell us not to use spells in a way ''SOMEONE MIGHT GET HURT OH NO!!''
Wizards however should definitely be restricted from leaving meteor swarm running in another room because they're not inherantly evil.

If you leave the hunting ground you will not get any credit. There is an area based restriction.

I always thought Meteor Swarm was to be used when "you know your going to die so might as well take everyone with you" sort of thing. But when does that happen and your not stunned?

Nah. It's just meant to be a spell of awesome destruction. And part of its charm is its inherent disutility.

yeah, when I used it, I would get fried in two casts usually. Just sit inside the hut when it was right outside.

Celephais

Yeah you can use it in sand devils, the huts are indoors, and being in an adjacent room that's "indoors" won't cause any havok. So as said, you cast outside, get in a hut, have your familiar "tell" you when it's over, then step outside and loot. Exp is area restricted, since you haven't left the area, you get the exp.

yeah, I did that to box hunt.

EZ mode for getting xp from picking boxes

collect a boatload of boxes via meteor swarm, go pick, repeat, etc

Meteor Swarm...my least used, but favorite spell. It used to be a right of passage when you quit to cast it in TSC. The good old days.

I posted in another thread about a wand I had that cast random offensive spells when waved. Damn thing always picked meteor swarm. Got nerfed real fast. I can't remember the last time either of my wizards have cast it though.

One of the Drakes Vanguard should post up a log of when I meteor swarmed them in Solhaven about a month, month and a half ago.

It's glorious, I imagine.

Nothing greater than rapidfiring meteor swarm when justice is off.
