During yesterday's maintenance Blizzard added in the Northrend version of the Consortium gem bag that you can pick up every month. You must be at least Honored with the Warsong Offensive to get the quest "Gems? What Gems?" The quality of the gems increases based on your reputation level just like with the Consortium. You can get the quest from the Injured Gem Smuggler in his hiding place at 59,69 in Borean Tundra. Warning: there is no ! mark to show his location--you just have to talk to him. He may be a bit hard to find so look carefully.
