View Full Version : Don't talk smack about the Poohbah

Drunken Durfin
03-30-2009, 03:06 PM
I was bored and decided to talk some CoL smack to see what would happen.

Apparently death is still an option, as well as another penalty that I was unaware of until now. Ah well, at least it is an excuse to go to the mainland for a while, other than to get deeds.

signal the poohbah wears pink undies I hear
[Names removed to protect those who do not wish to be revealed] acknowledged your signal.

You whistle tunelessly to yourself, remembering days past.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] starts chuckling at you!

[Fellow CoL'er 2] laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

[Fellow CoL'er 2] signals, "With polka dots"

You hear very soft footsteps.

You cackle!

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "and lace"

You flinch.

-------------------------------------------------
You sense the thoughts of the Grand Poohbah:
"My child, you have not abided by your vow of
secrecy and have permitted non-members to identify
your affiliation. As such, I strip you of your
powers for 30 minutes, so that you might have
time to reflect upon your actions."
-------------------------------------------------

You suddenly sense you've made a grave mistake.

You laugh out loud!

signal I just got punished
[Fellow CoL'er 3] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] snickers.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "ut oh mine must be comin"

[Fellow CoL'er 2] signals, "For talking about the poobahs undies?"

[Fellow CoL'er 1] frets.

signal I think someone saw me finger wagglin
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 3] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

A foreboding chill runs down your spine.

[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 3] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] grins at you.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] murmurs a simple, mystical chant...
[Fellow CoL'er 1] concentrates.
[Fellow CoL'er 1]'s chest looks better.

signal or at the very least get a better door out of the annex here
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 3] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You grumble.

A faint rustling comes from the shadows.

You give your eyebrow a little workout.

signal you folks see that in the shadows?
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] laughs!

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "oh he is in a badddd mood today"

You briefly glimpse a furtive figure lurking in the shadows.

You hear very soft footsteps.

[Fellow CoL'er 4] sits up.

search
You notice [Fellow CoL'er 4] who is quite obviously attempting to remain hidden.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

signal I wonders
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "stop makin me wonder i keep gettin in trouble !"

You briefly glimpse a furtive figure lurking in the shadows.

You ponder.

>signal do your worst
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You strike a heroic pose.

[Fellow CoL'er 2] flashes a wide grin.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] glances over at you and winces.

You briefly glimpse a furtive figure lurking in the shadows.

signal as I thought
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] stares off into space.

[Fellow CoL'er 4] slides a gold and brass ring on his finger.
Suddenly [Fellow CoL'er 4] vanishes!

>signal and the Poohbah DOES wear pink panties
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

A faint rustling comes from the shadows.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] stares off into space.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

You laugh as [Fellow CoL'er 2] tickles you.

signal I'm gonna be the one to take him down and take his place
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] stares off into space.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "best of luck with that"

signal not much of a leader, just sits there spouts proverbs and such
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You grumble.

[Fellow CoL'er 2] signals, "Pick out some better underpants"

signal never does anything to further the society
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You hear the sound of footsteps close behind you.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "yes perhaps one with less lace"

[Fellow CoL'er 1] winces.

[Fellow CoL'er 2] giggles at [Fellow CoL'er 1].

signal we would be better off with someone that had a real vision for the future
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] gulps.

[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You scoff.

[Fellow CoL'er 2] ducks her head.

You hear the sound of footsteps close behind you.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] smiles.

You turn around.

You listen, but don't hear anything unusual.

signal who's with me?
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] signals, "uhhhh..."

You briefly glimpse a furtive figure lurking in the shadows.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] shakes her head at Aeryck and clucks her tongue.

signal that's not an assassian in the shadows, it is one of the Poohba's cowardly spies
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 2] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.

You scoff.

[Fellow CoL'er 5] searches around for a moment.

[Fellow CoL'er 5] grins.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] grins.

You turn around.

You say, "Boo."

You remove a pale ivory toothpick from in your invar-buckled boots.

(Durfin readies himself for battle with his toothpick)

You rub the ivory toothpick in your hand.

signal all I need for the likes of you
[Fellow CoL'er 5] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.

You wave your ivory toothpick around.

You hear the sound of footsteps close behind you.

[Fellow CoL'er 5] peers quizzically at you.

You trudge off, moving east.

[Krodera Street]
There is an enormous hole in the middle of this cobblestone street, wide enough to swallow a small hill and deep enough that you can't see the bottom. The dwarves who wander by ignore it, walking around the edges on their way. A small wooden booth sits near the edge of the crater. You also see a shabby hovel and a rectangular portal with strange mists slowly swirling across the face in a smooth hypnotic pattern.
Obvious paths: east, west

You belt out, "Have at thee!"

Your head snaps back suddenly as a hand clamps over your mouth and pulls you backwards. Three slashes across your throat cut short any attempt to scream.

... 210 points of damage!
Incredible slash to your neck!
Throat and vocal cords destroyed!
Zero chance of survival.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.

...departing in 16 mins...

You struggle briefly, but you collapse and fall to the ground as your strength fails. You barely make out the shadowy figure looming above you as your vision blurs and your senses grow dim. You can still hear the words cold and clear before everything goes dark,

"You took an oath of silence, and this is a reminder that if you can't keep your oath there are far more painful ways to be certain you do. I have reduced you by 5 ranks in the Society. That is a high price to learn the value of silence."

Everything goes dark and the last thing you hear are faint footsteps and a sinister laughter fading away.

Small pieces of volcanic ash and soot drift slowly down from the sky.

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.
The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Droit just arrived.

You laugh, the sepulchral sound echoing through the room.

Droit laughs at you!

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.
The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.
The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.
The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Droit is trying to drag you. If you want to prevent this type "GROUP CLOSE".
Droit grabs you and drags you west.

[Dragonspine and Krodera]
The street widens into a circular plaza several hundred feet across. Dwarves and giantmen lounge on stone benches by a massive granite fountain in the center. The burbling of the waters, the low mumblings of the dwarves and the booming laughter of the giants somehow blend together into a vibrant harmony. You also see the Beldin disk, a black-tufted longhaired tiger, a pile of ash flakes, a small clump of soot, a small clump of soot, a pile of ash flakes, a small clump of soot, a small clump of soot, the sparkling Sebastus disk, the Xrothgar disk, a tiny white mouse that is sleeping, a rose-marrow potion, a wrought iron sign, a lava tube and a pristine hulking giant statue.
Also here: Droit, Ashlilly, [Fellow CoL'er 5], Beldin, Arasleaf who is sitting, Annachie, Xrothgar, [Fellow CoL'er 4] who is sitting
Obvious paths: north, east, south, west

[Fellow CoL'er 5] gazes fondly at you.

You say, "Apparently I cannot defend myself with a toothpick as well as I thought."

Speaking to Droit, Beldin asks, "Stuble acrooos him?"

[Fellow CoL'er 5] asks, "Need a little help?"

[Fellow CoL'er 5] laughs!

Annachie whispers, "Want me to get you up again?"

Beldin glances at you.

[Fellow CoL'er 5] peers quizzically at you.

You say, "I know I know."

You give a ghostly chuckle.

Beldin says, "Well toothpicks are pointy."

Droit grins.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] pokes you to see if you'll move.

Droit exclaims, "It wasn't me!"

You say, "Yes please, a little healing and some breath would be nice."

Droit mysteriously says, "Or was it..."

[Fellow CoL'er 5] says, "Or not."

Droit wiggles his eyebrows.

Annachie gestures at you.

A silvery translucent thread extends from Annachie encompassing you. You sense the comfort of salvation, and for only an instant, you glimpse the flows of mana coursing around you.

Beldin says, "Most likely was."

Beldin nods.

[Fellow CoL'er 1] says, "Silly."

[Fellow CoL'er 1] tickles you.

Annachie raises a hand while murmuring a soft orison...

Annachie gestures at you.
Annachie suddenly looks very drained.

You feel a sudden jolt of nothing short of the raw power of divine intervention. For some reason, you cannot bring yourself to move quite yet, but feel relieved nonetheless.

Beldin says, "Gave him a toothpick and convinced him was instant weapon of doom."

You recover enough strength to move again.

You sit up.

signal well, that ended poorly
[Fellow CoL'er 1] acknowledged your signal.
[Fellow CoL'er 4] acknowledged your signal.

I am certain it was the "lets overthrow the Poohbah" and panty talk that got me killed. At least that is what I got from the SEND's that came after my Report. There was some cute commentary about learning respect.

In any event, it was entertaining. I'll prolly pull the same thing again in the CoL Nexus in Sol Haven once I get my ranks back.

That was so much fun, and for the record I got my powers stripped for 30 for the polka dots comment. Unfortunately I had to leave and missed the real fun apparently.

Chances are Andraste's carebear alarm clock on her nightstand that is wired directly into Gemstone went off and she had to quickly roll out of bed and act fast and didn't have time to research the context of what was going on before issuing unofficial warnings that one could be officially warned.

And they've made making ranks in CoL kinda silly of late. If you go more than like a day or two without completing a task you get debunked two or more ranks.

The street runs between the northern palisade and the central square to the south and east. The traffic is varied here, as shoppers, traders, travelers and merchants mix with the ever-present and watchful militiamen. Rowdy cries and raucous laughter, as well as some oddly unidentifiable sounds, emanate from behind the drawn curtains of Cholgar's Bathhouse, which occupies nearly the entire block. You also see a ruined wooden rolton with a dilapidated sign on it.

The road turns gradually at this point as it forms the northwest corner of the city. The main path curves along the north and west walls, and another leads south between the buildings. The massive oak and modwir logs of the city palisade tower overhead. You also see a brightly lit small painted wagon.

[Wehnimer's, North Ring Rd.]
The cobbled road girds the town along the inner side of the northern palisade. Just to the north stand the twin sentinels of the gate's guardtowers. Guardsmen come and go through the main gates, keeping a close eye on the people of all races who move to and fro. Opposite the gates, you see the shop of Dakris the Furrier.

[Wehnimer's, Land's End Rd.]
Vigilant guardsmen scrutinize the citizens and travelers arriving and departing through the wide gateway spanning the land route into Wehnimer's Landing. The frenetic pace of the city to the south is a far cry from the deceptive calm of the wilds of Elanith outside. Two daunting towers survey the countryside and protect the town, flanking the road to the east and west. You also see a wooden barrel.

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]
Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a massive wheeled tower and a Wayside Inn.

You can hear the noisy bustle around the land gates to the west. Over the din, you can just barely hear the sound of the surf from the northeast. You also see a sun-bleached pine gate.

Recreational fishermen have beached their vessels on this sandy stretch of beach. To the south, you can see the wooden palisade that surrounds the Landing. You also see an abandoned wooden dinghy and a wooden sign.

The shore extends into a small, sandy promontory that juts into Darkstone Bay. The Landing's great river gate lies southeast of here, guarded on either side by tall twin towers. To the west, this path continues on between Wehnimer's wooden palisade and the sandy beaches along the bay. You also see a small wooden cart with a long gleaming wire on it and a small rabbit skeleton.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.

...departing in 13 mins...
