I played some GS back when it was III. I have been researching muds and this still seems like the best around. I never got to into it back then, and I will be coming is as a basic noob.

Will I be able to have fun..or is everyone super high level, forcing me to grind alone? Is it worth the hefty price tag?.

I came ehre to port because you guys seem to be pretty honest and the official forums are some of the most godawful I have ever seen. They are almost unnavigable. Seriously..am I doing something wrong here?

Also, is there a good spot for up to date guides? I have no idea what to do. I remember spending hours trying to get a good roll, for one.

yeah, lots of low level characters. as far as guides, krakiipedia.org is invaluable. it's a gs4 wiki that has a ton of info.

The profession folders both here, and on the officials have plenty of posts of people asking for advice on builds from 0-100. I doubt you will even need to post if you look hard enough. As for those willing to RP and hunt with you, as long as you're not a tool you shouln't have any trouble. I recommend starting in Icemule Trace or the Landing.

That's good, since Wehnimers and Icemule are the only towns I ever went to. I think I made it to Rivers rest once and died shortly thereafter. I had no idea about the Wiki. Thanks a lot!

No more rolling for initial stats. Guides seem to be a thing of the past. Pick a profession that seems fun to you and someone in the appropriate folder will give you a hand.

www.tsoran.com still has maps you can use to get around.

www.playershops.com has player shops you can use to outfit yourself once you gather up some skrill

www.nilandia.com has a whole ton of misc info along with www.krakiipedia.com

They've got a new beginner quest system in place that will help you become reacquainted with the game, as well. The way you initially place your stats/skills isn't too important, you've got some 30 days to fuddle around with it.

Psinet is really good if you decide you are going to keep playing and at the very least you should get a movement script, like SBC (sahra's bus company?) or something. Pretty much make a script for everything you do, then you can play WoW at the same time. :)

Tsoran.com is good if you want to print out your maps and have em handy on paper, but if I'm looking them up on line, I find Virilneus' roomdata maps (http://www.virilneus.com/roomdata/room.php) to be far more convenient.

Back in GSIII it used to be confusing as hell when you first started. There's alot to learn. But alot has changed and its generally more new-user friendly.

I was referring to the website layout. Looking up maps on V's site is far quicker and easier to use than on Tsoran's.
