i have a 26 rogue im working on setting up for a fix-skill when it comes around.

i need a good e-wave guide for my rogue.

plan to make the rogue full combat not sure if i want him to pick but if its possible to have a magic combat rogue who can pick his own boxes then thats good.

thanks for the help.

you can always just keep your disarm training and pop the boxes with 407. posting your current skills so we know what we can play with would be a big help.

I couldn't squeeze ewave in until late 70s.

Yeah, I think it's going to be really tough or impossible at 27. You might be able to manage 1 spell/5 levels ... maybe.

I did 1 spell per level from 40 to 50 to get to ewave, and it was painful but doable. Was still able to keep up my twc and ohe and some other stuff. It's expensive (670 mp's) but worth it IMO. If you want to pick you're going to want lords anyway, and it's just another 6 spells after that.

Yeah, it is possible I believe at mid 40s-50s to pick it up. You'll be losing a lot even then. Most people can't be a locksmith having it that early. At 70-80, you can be a 2x locksmith or a 3x dodge build. I chose dodge, as their is an NPC that can open my boxes for at most 6k a box. There is no NPC that gives me 3x dodge for 6k.

can some of you post your builds for me to look at?

thanks

Well, I'm almost 2mil past cap. My build will look a little better than someone working on a level to level situation.

i dont need to be a TWC rogue but i would love to have e-wave asap. even a good ranged combat build will be nice to have.

grimswarms = a pita and hoping e-wave will help with that.

15 ranks of MIU and some imbeds could solve that problem a lot more easily.

getting the imbeds is a pita for the amount of times i would be casting it. right?

Well, considering it takes me 5 seconds to forage for wiregrass, 30 seconds to Imbue it, and a pure 10 seconds to imbed five charges of 410 in it ... no.

deadly

well that involves me getting my ranger to forage for the grass then imbue it then transfer the sutff to my wizard and attempt to imbue them and keep a stock pile up..... i guess i could do that.

well then got any good combat builds thats good on up hunting critters?

I'm not sure how much this will help, but here's my skills at 78. For what it's worth, I didn't get e-wave until 32ish, but I was TWC at that time, in brig. The build I currently have is by far my favorite.

Still dropping some perception and pickpocket just to raise my cman some more. Not necessary, but I don't really need either.

You won't be using ewave much in a camp. Even in the back rooms, I'm only using it 2-3x maybe every 2 pulses. It is a help in a pinch, but the shroud screws any chance of making it extremely helpful.

You are better using imbeds, like it alread has been suggested. And then you can stock up on haste too, as you'll be trained to use haste with 15 ranks MIU. Haste will be a bigger help.

Plate armour is far superior to ewave training.

I think I got my rogue ewave at 34 or something with sacrificing a lot a long time ago. Not even sure if it was in GS3 or 4. Let me see if I can recreate him in the spreadsheet.

I would also agree with getting haste imbeddables. But if you really want to try out ewave here is a training plan to get it by 35, or earlier if you wanted to sacrifice some stuff:

1x armor use to get min hinderance in brig (35 ranks)
2x Edge
2x TWC
1x CM
2x Ambush - 1 rank
1x FP
1.5x dodge
2x Hiding
1x Percep
1x Harness Power
Spells bought at lvl 10, 12, 16, 22, 25, 26, 27, 30, 32, 35.

Works out on the spreadsheet at least, not sure how viable it would be.

I don't think it's too hard to squeeze out e-wave around level 30. This is at 32:

Skill Name | Current Current
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use..........................| 140 40
Combat Maneuvers...................| 128 34
Two-Handed Weapons.................| 166 66
Ambush.............................| 141 41
Physical Fitness...................| 128 34

Harness Power......................| 90 20
Stalking and Hiding................| 168 68
Climbing...........................| 120 30

Spell Lists
Minor Elemental....................| 10

Shouldn't be too long before I can get things like ambush back up to par. I'm shooting for chain shirt here. This was a switch from a TWC build. I think there was a big improvement.

As far as fitting in secondary skills like picking, you're looking at goals for post-50.

I solo orc and troll camps by choosing the right weapons and hiding/ambushing, taking the grim out one at a time. When I group warcamps, I ewave/mstrike/open ambush. I have a multi-purpose build, intentionally. I'm not the best hider in the world, but I can take out a whole camp on my own fairly easily. (I don't bother with giantman camps. Legging just takes too much extra time.) Thing about ewave is, it's very good to have, but don't expect it to be a game-changer. I NEVER use it when I solo camps- I hide and ambush near the exit so I can make a quick retreat if necessary. I like to be able to hunt on my own as effectively as I hunt with others. MIU is useful to boost your defenses, particularly your TD difficulties that all rogues have. Here's my build, it's always a work in progress. Take it for what you will.:

As far as fitting in secondary skills like picking, you're looking at goals for post-50.

You won't have much mana with that build, at least not enough to reliably use it on critter after critter.

I've been doing fine with it for now. 60 mana is a pretty fair sum to start with I think. I haven't gotten to the point where I've been too low for a hunt. It's only needed when there's 2-3 creatures in the room. I regenerate 9 mana every pulse anyway. The goal is to go up to 25 ranks eventually, though.
