Moving to the middle of nowhere again and I was wondering if there were any good PSP games out there these days.
All I have right now are FFT and Crisis Core. I was thinking SO2 and maybe phantasy star, but what about any original games?
Ideas?

Final fantasy 1... one of the greatest games ever was released on psp
WTF (Work time fun) is a good short attention span time sink game with a bunch of twisted mini games
There's a few of the oldschool compilation's as well midway and shit
I just wish they had a setup to hook it to a larger screen without some janky ass looking 3rd party device.

Unfortunately, you have all the good games for the PSP already. There was a poll on Game informer's website showing that the majority of people only bought a PSP to play the two games you had listed. Outside that, most titles are pretty yawn. Or like Jayvn said, time sinks.
Should have gotten a DS.

hrmmm, has anyone tried any of the other turn-based strategy games? Like erm Field Commander, Warhammer, LotR Tactics, D&D Tactics, or wild arms xF. None of them got amazing scores on gamespot.com.

Disgaea, Jeanne D'Arc.
They exist, but what about them? Good, Bad?
I wouldn't have posted them if they weren't worth it.

I liked Jeanne D'arcs gameplay, similar to FFT but the story was annoying. PATAPON is probably the second best game on PSP behind FFT, IMO. Just wish it had a pause feature, what kind of handheld game doesn't let you pause?

If you like survival horror, Silent Hill Origins was an EXCELLENT game in the series, and was originally released on PSP. Play it with headphones and I imagine you will get your money's worth.
For those not owning a PSP it was ported onto the PS2.
Oh, I would also recommend the Ratchet and Clank game that was out for PSP. Those games are always win.

that was fun and maybe it's just me but any of the fast paced games make me feel sick.

All I know is I am waiting for the next Ratchet and Clank game for the PS3.

I highly recommend God of war: chains of olypumus (sp?). Its short, only about 8 hours total, but graphics are insane and its very addictive. One of the best polished games for the PSP. I'm waiting for it to go down in price
I also have racket and clank size matters also very good
Don't forget the GTA games, vice city and liberty city stories, both very good. What else? Lumines is a great puzzle game.
Patapon is good too. All I can think of for now.

I have Warhammer now, had owned D&D Tactics and Jeanne d'Arc (which you can now download straight off their online shop). Actually, I enjoyed all three. None of them are alike. Warhammer was grittier...sluggish but not agonizingly slow. Somewhat of a challenge. D&D Tactics was quite true to the table top game, but the least interesting story wise and with almost no cut scenes. Jeanne d'Arc I beat and enjoyed thoroughly. Nearly as much as I did FFT. Crisis Core was prety and fun to play but talk about repetitive as hell. Good game, but they could've done a good deal differently. Best thing about it was that it gave TONS of storyline out that I was hoping for.
I just finished Brave Story. It was good, too but got older the more you played it. You did get access to newer stronger combos late in game, so that at least kept me somewhat interested. I've played some of the other games that have sucked, but in the same breath I tend to enjoy nearly any game for the first 20 hours, even if it's supposedly horrid. It's holding my attention past that, that many PSP games find hard.
I've heard nothing but good about the God of War game for PSP. Rumor has it, that it is short, but that was about the only complaint I heard about it. The puzzle games actually get some of the best reviews. I'm just not a huge puzzle fan. I want to try the Star Ocean game that's out for it. Phantasy Star was....well I played the demo and it seemed VERY like the other Phantasy Star games I've played, for good or bad.
Wish I had more to tell ya. I am in the same boat, searching for the gems in a field of junk. There are some to be had, but you have to search.
I got the system for everything else it can do, along with playing games. The DS is too limited even if the games are better, for my taste. I can't afford to buy a game system, MP3 player and portable movie player. The system would be great if it merely had about 10-20% more GOOD games. Every system has a majority of crap niche games. This one just needs some development and $ put into it by Sony.
