Ok, odd question here. Can't seem to find a decent answer anywhere about it. I have a prepaid credit card that I was gifted for my birthday. The problem is, there is now an odd amount left on the card. When I tried to use it and spent more than the card's value, their system at Best Buy wouldn't allow me to use two forms of payment with the prepaid card. Ran into the same issue at Wal-mart. I called the card's 800 number and they said it might be an issue with the card itself with how it was set up.

So, I was curious if I could just set the card number up as a secondary card on paypal, add funds and just leave it in my paypal and/or toss it in my bank? Not a big deal either way, just wondering wtf I can do with this card.

weird, I bought something at Best Buy last month using a pre-paid amex, gift card and a credit card.

Yea, never had a problem like that. I have made many purchases using multiple payment methods.

Yeah, I never have either. I suppose I could just go store to store and try to buy stuff.

You either had a new or a lazy clerk.

And thanks for reminding me. I've still got $2.34 left on a card from Xmas. Guess I'll go buy a soda and some gum.

yeah, prepaid CCs are horrible for online transactions. Use them at the stores.

Paypal will split payments for you. The next time you pay for something, choose that prepaid card as your primary fund source, then something else as the secondary.

Yeah, I'll just keep using it at Walgreens on red bull till it is used up, if it gives me shit when only 1.23 is left, I'll just throw it away.

I was just curious if you could use paypal as a work around to avoid a cash withdrawl fee on credit cards. As there is a $25 fee to remove cash from the card, and there is only $17 left on it.

Next time - tell the cashier to type in the EXACT amount of what's left on the card as the FIRST form of payment - the remaining due you pay with another form of payment.

If you're not sure how much is left - you should be able to check online or call (back of card info).
