thats why you can never be too technical in a game environment like Gemstone. You can basically create and roleplay any type of character you want when you get down to it. the technicalities are not as important to everyone. some play the game for fun, some for fame, and others just to have something to do. the level of interest in the mechanics is not going to be the same for everyone. maybe it should be.. but it never will.

Lets get this straight...I log Snowy into the game two days after your character killed her and you locate using symbol of sight. Your char. and his high Lady friend then come into the park where Snowy is, and you inform me that her current actions are viewed by you as harassment...She hadn't done anything.

Considering the fact that Dickkhead killed Snowy two days previously, I considered the fact that it may be against policy...for about a nanosecond, then figured that if it was seen by the GM's they would piss themselves laughing at you. I was fully aware of the policy. I made an informed judgement that you were abusing the warn verb and decided to take my chances anyway. If you feel I was wrong to do so, please Report or Assist in game. I would so love a GM to go through this one.

Contrary to your misconceptions, Snowdrop is a sylvan - not a halfling. She has spent most of her time in the lands in the Elven Nations. She has many friends there and some enemies, but has happily lived there without the hassle of running into dickheads like yourself...and your character. She is perfectly capable of existing in Illistim, where she has spent the last 5 months (since she left Vaalor) and will continue to do so until she feels she fancies a change in hunting ground and environment. Rest assured that the only thing that would be urging me to return her to the Landing would be a pressing need to kick your arse again. ;)

Game mechanics prevent you from actually roleplaying a 10 year old sylvan. Period. No ands, ifs or buts. You can roleplay an older sylvan who believes she is a 10 year old child all you want... which will be fine by me. But the PLAYER behind Snowdrop has to realize that Snowdrop isn't a 10 year old. This is not Glasgow, this is Gemstone and in Gemstone they have rules, one of the rules being an limitation on your age. How hard is that to understand? Snowdrop is not 10, she's 30 (I believe that is the lowest, correct me if I'm wrong) and thinks she is 10. It's okay, Gemstone needed a more diverse community, I just didn't think mentally handicapped people would be one of them.

Not knowing the full details of any of the conflicts Snowy has been involved in, how do know they are (a) unconsented (b) wanton policy violation?

The staff are aware of some of the conflicts Snowdrop gets into. She has never been told that she has broken policy, although has been advised that continuing the ruck with Rarr would have done. Therefore she stopped. In the main (though I can think of two exceptions) they have been consenting conflicts and all have been within policy.

This isn't unbelievable because you're a 10 year old and fighting. It's unbelievable because you're a 10 year old fighting with a 6 foot bow and martial arts. If you were using a short bow, it'd be more believable. If you were using a dagger or shortsword ambushing deal and went for the legs first, it'd be pretty believable, as long as you stayed away from killing things with voln fu.

I don't think normal physics apply when it comes to fighting make believe creatures. A halfling can "leap from hiding" and ambush a 21 foot tall giant in the eye. thats a pretty high jump. Hell, my human can do that and its still a pretty high jump for a human. Also Dwarves, gnomes and halflings can use longbows. Should that be allowed or should I switch that "suspension of disbelief" button on?

Also martial arts isnt always about strength. I bet a 10 year old who has been training since he/she was three could kick an adults ass if they knew some good techniques. Im not an expert but from what I've seen, heard, and read, many martial arts kinda push the "its not all about strength" stuff.
