It's my bed time, but I thought about this the other day and figured I might as well start now!
I'm going to randomly do Who in the game to see how many players are around. Feel free to join in!

I always though elven time standed = eastern, unless they just don't adjust for daylights savings time.

Elven was Eastern but they didn't adjust for daylight savings this last switch which is awfully confusing. It's been brought up on the boards and summarily ignored. Evidently whoever used to be in charge is either gone or stopped caring.

I thought they just used "elven standard time" to be "eastern standard time", which doesn't adjust for daylight saving.

They definitely used to adjust for daylight savings time, but I wouldn't know if they still do.

They haven't reprogrammed the server time to take account for the fact that daylight savings time now starts three weeks earlier and ends one week later. Congress made that change last year or the year before.

did i understand this properly? did you just say eastern standard time doesn't adjust for daylight savings? as in the whole timezone? ... OR that simu area doesn't adjust?

Meaning elven time doesn't adjust for daylight savings time.
But I think Kembal is right that the days it changes hasn't been adjusted.

I win
http://www.deadlylight.com/images/whograph.png
Shows the last 24 hours of number of active players (only started some 12 hours ago).
I'll put some hour ticks in there later so it's easier to read...
... it'll continue to save the values 'forever', so once there is enough data I'll make a version that covers more than just a day. (I'm collecting data on DR, GSPlat, etc.. so when I'm motivated I'll make the graphs for those too).

Celephais can you make that chart so it shows the hours at the bottom ;)
Done. I know the title at the bottom can be a bit misleading (because it's the date of the rightmost time, yet it spans two days most of the time), but whatever...
Had a bit of a issue and lost some data between 1 am and 9am, but I put in a reliability thing where it should recover quickly now (so only simu being down, or my internet being down should create gaps now).

What timezone is that chart in Sealyface?
Eastern... the right most thing should be the current time (within 10 minutes). The points on the chart are updated once every 5 minutes.
Also... sealyface? the reference eludes me.

I'm curious as I only attempted to play DR for like...5 minutes. Why are there more people? Because its older? Is it better and less nerfafied like GS has become? Anyone play it and prefer it to GS? I remember not liking the combat system...

Definitely not older. DR was an off-shoot of GS. No idea why it is more popular. Maybe it sees a ton more DEV so players are happy.

I remember being freaked out that I couldn't leave combat... and not having any idea how close to death I was... and then foraging and whittling sticks for half an hour until my ass was mind locked.
...and then going back to GS.
But I've certainly heard its praises sung.

It was actually GS IV, but it essentially got branched when it became clear the GS player base mostly didn't like it.

I enjoyed it. The only reason I didn't stay is because I have already invested years into GS, and starting over sucks. But when Necromancers come out, I might just have to give it another go.
I'll definitely say that I loved the combat and learning system way more.

I played it for a short while. It was definitely hard to adjust not having numbers thrown at you all the time. However those differences, such as combat, make it a bit more "realistic" if I can use that for a txt based game.
