Someone told me that Rsen got deeded. Anyone know if it's true or not?

A friend of mine, I'm not going to mention any names, told me that he found out someone had gotten the password to Rsen's account. He contacted the GM's and told them, however nothing was done. Last we saw Rsen was killing himself over and over, so assume he is done.

That's HORRIBLE. Rsen's player is a really nice lady. I don't have much knowledge about the character, but I met her at Simucon. She even offered to let me sleep in her room, since I uh. Didn't have anywhere to sleep and they kicked me out of the lobby.

I heard a few names in connection with her deeding... I figured her account must've been 'hacked', but the friend that told me about it wasn't sure what happened.

I wonder if she'll get restored, and I really hope they catch whoever did it. That's rediculous.

Ouch. I feel for her. I remember when I first met her, she was really young in game, and was very confused. She always had a good spirit, always happy and helped me and others all the time. Other folks and I helped her out when she was young, she then seeked a mentor and apparently the mentor bad-mouthed me so she backed off from me.

I wasn't warclaidhm at this time .. this was quite awhile ago. I was actually alot worse then warclaidhm now, although I don't know what is so wrong with him. He may sound stupid at first, but when you get to know him, he's a preety nice guy.

Damn, it took rsen so long to title too .. thats really sad...

Nobody just waltzes up and gets a password. Nobody hacks others and receives their password. It's damn near impossible. Every single case, the password was given out, written down somewhere (one of the stupidest things next to giving out a password), or actually given out.

Did I say it was hacked? I didn't say how they got it, but that they did get her password. The person told the friend of mine that they were going to deed Rsen, and followed through with it apperently.

All I know is it was reported several times. Obviously since she died like 8 times in a row and then logged, they didn't do anything to stop it. What they're plans are I don't know.... They were told ahead of time though....

Important issues? I had nothing to do with it. I don't know Rsen, I wasn't told anything but what my friend told me. It wasn't an important issue to me at all. I told him to report it the GM's and he did. That was my only involvement in the issue.

I sort of had the same experience as Rsen. My ex while I was visiting my family for thanksgiving, decided that I really meant it when I said it was over. He demoniced each of my characters.. folks that knew me, saw I wasnt on AIM and reported to the GMs that they were sure it wasn't me. And the GMs told my friends that they put a lock on my account. But that wasnt the case. He kept killing my characters, demoniced them and for good measure, he deleted them and changed all their names to a mockery of what they once were.

And I *Did* change my password, several times. I didnt realize that he changed all my info while he had access for 1 day to himself. Including my security word and my email address.

I called Simu over a week before this happened, warning them that my now ex boyfriend was threatening me with harm within the game (in which he did kill me several times) and outside.. I know they cant do anything about the outside the game. But I wanted to show how real the threat was.

Simu basically told me they cant help me. I begged them to change the account name.. anything to safeguard me. They said it wasnt possible at the time.

I also reported my ex over 10 times for harassment, stalking etc in the game. They just told me "to report and assist for each time he does something." Nothing was done.

I stopped playing GS for a whilie after I realized he did this and the Gods would not help me. But I wouldnt let him beat me like this. This is exactly what my ex wanted. And like hell I'd let him take away more than he already had of my life.

In real life.. I've since relocated and become more cautious. I'm still afraid for my friends and my family whom he threatened, but I've heard he's been stalking and terrorizing other women. So I think his fixation on me is gone.

God help those women.

The person who did it used to be Sallazarre's (spelling?) player for all those who are curious, because I'm all for exposing assholes like that. I reported several times as it was happening, and the GMs did nothing. I called an assist also, but of course by the time they got there, she was gone completely. If Rsen reads this, I'm sorry for your loss, and hope I helped in SOME way.

Everyone whos account gets hacked is because they are greedy for levels and tell it to someone so they can gain exp without playing , then they are so heartbroken when they lose their characters and items, boohoo, don't share your password and you won't get "hacked".
Key loggers are a joke. No one downloads them.
99.9% of account "hackings" are people telling others their passwords then lying about it later. I know because I've probably done it to the most peoples characters in the game.

Simu logs ips, you know it, i know it, everyone knows it.
I can assure you it's not me, my ip is static. Since i still play the game, once in a while at the university's library, and since i ain't locked up, simu believes, too, it isn't me.

I know Rsen personnaly, let's not get thing personal for her though. It's very sad indeed.

p.s. there's already about 40 versions of it, don't spread any more.

She went on vacation BEFORE the incident, and she CHANGED her password before the incident, and she NEVER told me the password, mainly because i wasn't there. Therefore, it's impossible it was me. Don't believe me? Ask her.

Yeah, the GMs do not give a shit when it comes to personal matters. They do run a buisness here. I lost a registered and highly expensive set of armor once. Did they help me get it back? No. All they give a damn about is their policy and making a buck at the expense of the players. I highly doubt this would have happened 10 years ago, or atleast the GMs would be more willing to help.

I'd write to feedback, or do an assist/report In game (if you can still get back in). However, if you gave your password to someone, the GMs stance will most likely be a negative in giving you your items, lvl and name back. IF you were hacked, actually hacked, your chances are better. There was a recent incident where this happened and the person in question was restored.

If you told someone your password, you aren't getting anything back. But if they hacked you and it was Simu's fault, then theres a possibility. Don't call someone you told your password deleting your character "hacking" you. Call it getting screwed over, Honestly I have NO sympathy whatsoever for people who lose their items because they are greedy for levels so they share their password.

Have you spoken the GMs? I'd try writing a letter to one of the more receptive people as well as Feedback. Khaladon, while not really being within that sphere of influence, is a good guy (i'd say the best in GS), and will do his best.

The advice about trying Khaladon or whichever GM you are most comfortable with as well as feedback is good.

As others have said though, if you did let others have access to your characters Simu will most likely be able to see and the likelihood of them being willing to delve into such a mess is small.

I do hope things work out, but if you have enjoyed GS, I hope you do not let such an act cause you futher irritation and will begin anew.

And last but not least if it hasnt been hammered at you enough let me say it again. NEVER ever ever share your account information. Not with your best freind, not with anyone, ever. It's your best and only defense. Well, that and a good virus scan/firewall. :cool:

If Simu is unable to restore your character but you did enjoy playing then do not the pathetic actions of one sad little person dictate your own.

Start again and this time just try to be more careful. If you follow all the advice given earlier in the thread reagrding using a good anti-virus program, firewall and not sharing your password with even your clergyman you will be as safe as one can possibly be in this day and age.
