ZOMG IT'S AWESOME.
It also has a 2 player co-op mode for the whole game.
...Anyone have Xbox Live and want to be my wingman? Or wingwoman?
You can have all the ammo except for the rifle. THE RIFLE IS MINE.
Fuck it, the rifle or nothing!!
almost have it beat!! I fucking love lickers.

Supposedly this is the last in the current series, the next RE is going to be a complete reboot.

O.K.: Let's pretend the only games I had for my 360 were BioShock and Dead Space. And then I played them until I had perfect gamerscores on each (not true.) And that I haven't played RE since RE2 on the N64 (true.)
Is it absolutely frickin' worth it?

Resident Evil got real dumb after the second one so I haven't been to excited about RE5. It looks good and I bet its fun but how much more blood can someone squeeze out of this turnip? Does RE even have zombies in it anymore?

It has tentacle monsters in it but no school girls. :wtf:

It depends. It plays almost exactly like Resident Evil 4, which was sort of like a "reboot" for the series (camera change, upgradeable weapons, other changes).
I'm a longtime RE fan, so I'm probably biased.
But I still need someone to play with. So yes. Buy the game.

no school girls, but a hot chick in skin-tight skimpy gold leather.

For those that stopped playing after RE2, I would give RE4 a run through. They make several comments in RE5 that show a linear timeline between the two (and RE4 references 2). Plus, RE4 had a great storyline, replay value and is mega fun (if you can, grab it on the Wii).
Haven't played RE5 yet, as I'm still enjoying Fallout 3, but I'm a fan of the RE games (who doesn't love zombies??). Totally jealous Jessa already unlocked new game+.

RE4 was a very good game on all the platforms I played it on. I am clueless about RE5, but will play it some day....after I get Fallout 3 and beat it. I must upgrade my computer first. No clue how the PC version of Fallout 3 is versus PS3, but I know I enjoyed both the PC and PS2 versions of RE4.
So, do you need to have played RE4 to truly enjoy RE5? I'm just curious.

I wouldn't think so. From what I've seen from people playing/trailer they make a few references to RE4.

I STILL WANT TO PLAY WITH SOMEONE.

And if you have a headset, I can yell at you to be my meat shield while I snipe the bejesus out of shit.
But don't ask me to aim the Laser Targetter thing during the one boss fight. I'm likely the worst on the planet at that.
I'm not so bad with the satellite laser in the Excella fight (OMG SPOILERS?!) but I'm absolutely terrible with the flamethrower in the Uroboros Mkono fight. :(

RE4 is considered one of the greatest games of all time and I agree. Its fantastic. But the demo for RE5 was slow and clunky. The reviews have been mediocre as well. Having someone with you at all times takes away from the horror aspect, as well as being in the daylight. I'll get it, but I've lowered my expectations. I doubt it'll be better than RE4 or even close to it. I do like that Wesker makes a return. He is the best character in the whole series.

Out of 52 reviews, it has an 8.6 average. That's mediocre?

And if anyone wants to play, my gamertag is agony42.

For the sequel to RE4 I call it mediocre. Damn near all of the reviews on Metacritic mention the shitty controls. I'm sure its a good game, just not as great as expected is all. Gamestop will still get my money I assure you.

Control type A is almost exactly like RE4. And once you get used to managing your inventory on the fly, there are absolutely no control issues.
And pfffft, who needs a flamethrower for that fight?
LOAD UP THEM FLAME ROUNDS AND PWN PWN PWN.

RE4 is a classic and revolutionized the RE series. RE5 is just as good except they made it an action/coop game instead of horror. My boy and I beat RE5 in 2 days coop and we are playing it again just for unlockables and extra goodies. Alot of replayability. No idea who is complaining about the controls. I had no problem with them at all.
