How long does Simu keep non-active accounts before deleting them, anyone know?

They say to let them know every 6 months or a year but honestly I've heard stories of people reactivating from 4-5 years ago with no issue.

When you deactivate, they say the characters are safe for a year. But my prior reactivation was after a few years and all characters were intact.
I doubt that they would ruin chances of old players returning and risk them never coming back.
I reactivated an 11 year old account no problems.

I know last year I was going to open it up again, I talked to someone in billing and she sent me the security question and account name but I held off on it. Unfortunately I deleted that email a couple months ago so I talked to billing again, but this time the guy in billing is giving me a security question that is different and something that I definitely would not have used. Doesn't look good so far.

Mine was turned off for 3-4 years and they reactivated without any issues. They probably say 6 months to encourage people to play.
Deleted accounts mean potential loss of income, and we all know Simu could use ca$h.

I got the account activated but the character I had was sitting at level 0 with no equipment... trying to find out what happened :(
I had a friend return from a long ass time ago and he said they had to re-create like everything. Not sure if they had logs or what but he was all leveled up and had his gear back.

That's good hear, hopefully they can do the same. I'm not really worried about the character itself it was his equipment I wanted. One of those razor sharp mithril claids (which I bought for 650k :) ), some altered flaring 7x greatsword, and some light 6x full plate.

One of mine sat dormant for almost 8 years & it was reactivated with no problems. I don't like dealing with the chick at CS when you call, she's pretty clueless whenever I deal with her.

"Do you agree to a $50 deposit to start the investigation and an additional $200 fee to deliver the restored character?"
Saw this under the customer restoral request page. Think I changed my mind about it if that's really the case.

Think that's for characters that went demonic, bit different than your problem.

I've had accounts inactive for years at a time, 3-5yrs or so for some. No problems.

I don't even know what happened yet. When I logged into the account today the character was at the spot in the landing where you appear when you first start with the fairy, level 0. Guy has the same name but it's a different race.

Did you ever share your password, or did you ever get drunk and decide to re-roll?

No to both of those.

I'd assist and talk with someone about that. Are you sure you're on the character you believe was X level and such? You might need to contact billing to reactivate the whole account. I think if you deactivated characters one by one, they won't be there upon reactivation.

The whole account was reactivated and i'm positive about it being the right one. He was the only character that i've played past 20. Waiting to hear back from billing for more info.

The last time I reactivated after a long time away & then went to log in, I had no characters. I had to call billing back to ask them where they were & they reactivated them all manually.
The guy(Mike?) did it for me, Jessica was the one who reactivated without putting the characters back. I think you should call & talk to them to see if they can fix it if you haven't already.

Yeah Mike's been the only one answering calls of late, I'm pretty sure Beth's no longer there. He's pretty savvy/good about fixing things and if he cannot he'll pass the buck along to someone that can and will get it done if possible in a decent time frame.

I've been dealing with Chris the last couple of days and he's been very helpful. The character was created in like 1999 but he's saying logs are showing it was created in 2003. Not that it matters anymore but I think the character and items are gone forever.

I try every 6 months or so to get my old name from 1996.
Still can't get it.
