1: how much armor training can I remove before I incur a penalty?

2: I am in a deficit of 1300 mtps. is there a totally different training plan I could utilize while sticking to plate armor and OHE? I strongly prefer to 2x CM

3: My redux now is incredible and I also dodge a lot with the 1x shield. But my dodging skill is low. Any suggestions?

I have some other questions I'll post them soon.

Going 2x CM pre-cap will fuck with any training plan. Are you sure it is your redux being awesome and not just being in plate? I don't see how 1x PT is getting you there.

1) Exactly 1 rank: http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Armor_Use
2) You can drop perception. It isn't going to help you any with ambushing and I'm under the impression that it doesn't help with pickpocketing (it's a factor for the mark not the thief, right?). Is there a totally different OHE/plate/ambushing/2xCM build? How totally different? You've already specified all of your core skills basically.
3) It's good but you don't like that the number is low? Your 2x ranks in dodge (4/2) will be cheaper than your 2x ranks in shield use (10/0). Anyway, you need to think harder on what gives the best bonus at the right price (recall that shield size makes a huge difference too). Check here for some work on that: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=39403

Where are you planning on hunting at cap? Do you plan on being able to wear outside spells at all?

Yeah, there is no way your redux is awesome just yet with that build. It has to be your plate.

As a rogue, you want to take advantage of at least ONE rogue only ability. Either 3x dodge or 3x hiding. You've got a warrior build, sort of. Drop shield to 1x, bring dodge up as much as you can, drop perception to 2x, drop the 14 ranks of PP, bring swimming to about 50 if you want to go to Nelemar, you can drop armor by 1 rank if you gotta wear full plate (however full plated rogues is very GS3), drop ambush to 1.5x, bring PT up if you can, but no big trouble if you can't.

What qualifies as awesome redux? 60%? My redux is 45% and I'm only 1x in PF and only level 48. If he's 70 his redux is probably at least 50% or 55%. I was trying to find out where redux maxes and didn't get a great answer but heard it was well short of 70%. Would be nice if one of you post-capped rogues with no spell ranks could post some shots so I can figure out your redux. Remember no weighted weapons or padded armor.

Doubt you are gonna find many, if any, post-cap rogues with no spell ranks.

also isn't it possible to achieve max damage reduction even at 1x spells?

There is a thread about it. I don't think so though. I'm not too knowledgable of redux these days. But I want to say you have to be 3x PT and have a lot of seconadry skills to overcome even .5x spells (at cap).

The krakiipedia page on redux is pretty informative. I went there looking for the maximum number of spell ranks you can have before penalizing your redux and saw that it was level/20, so 5 for someone capped. More helpful was this graph that showed how redux plateaus with increased redux points.

http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Redux

I plugged in my training plan (258 redux points) and my redux (45%), and it fit right on the line. The OP has 375 points and should be at 54-55% so his redux is actually pretty close to as good as it gets. Doubling in PF would give him 447 points and he'd still only be at 55-56% according to that chart. My training plan at cap and 2x PF will have me with 633 points which is off the chart but extrapolating the line I don't think it gets much higher than 55%. Maybe it gets to 60%.

Anyway if anyone wants to post some hits, I can tell them their redux. Also post armor type and skills. 5 spells or fewer should not produce a penalty.
