well...it does provide unlimited defense as long as you can stay hidden from the creature

As a rogue, tripled in hiding with shadow mastery, I breezed through Blighted, Wyneb and Maaghara. It was pretty darn cool to be able to not even trigger the search at times and watch the random NPC movements. It is a style choice or how you envision your archer playing out.

that would be awsome, but just too costly, i cant even think about 1.5x let alone double or tripling.... i love the idea of sniping, but ive not needed to, and really think lores would help my vines more at this point.

As a ranger, you do have spells that augment your ability to hide and even camouflage to help you auto-hide. I'm not sure what the ranger equivalent training would be. Semis drive me nuts with their TP constraints.

Supposedly, a ranger who is 2x in hiding with 601 and 617 is equivalent to a 3x hiding rogue, but only outdoors. Dunno if that's accurate or not.

It has always been said that rogues will always be the masters of hiding indoors, and rangers outdoors, too.

I would not be an rogue archer if I could not hide. Rangers are another story with regards to open archery.

I just fixskilled Droit to a build that's archery/spells. He'll have 202 ranger ranks within the next week. No hiding. I assume his aiming ability from the open will be insane because 613's aiming bonus is based on ranger ranks.

not sure if it is either but a friend of mine ranger, she is in her 80s, 1.25x in hiding, shadow mastery, with 601 and 617, and some assume aspect im not sure which one you damn rangers and your crap. at anyrate i couldn't find her with 402, and fully 2x'd perception...and not like took me a long time to find her...but i couldn't find her so i'd imagine its pretty close

Hiding worked for me for a while but OTF was just an unmanageable can of worms between gremlocks/griffins perception. I ended up in the open in platemail with 425/107 and later on up to 430.

The only thing that pulls me out now is griffins, and thats if I remain in the room past a certain point with one of the damn birds in it. I can sneak through pretty easily.
