Does anyone know if there's a place you can set your book so you don't have to go the long way into Darkstone? I'm not voln, so I can't take the easy route.

You can't use your book to get into Darkstone. However you can use it to get out of Darkstone.

A good rule of thumb. If you can't ring into it or if a mage can't gate into it you won't be able to rift in.
