View Full Version : Balnazzar?
So, I just started trying out WoW for the first time and I'm actually rather impressed to be honest. I accepted a free trial from a friend at work and he told me to join Balnazzar.
I've joined up and yadda yadda yadda, now a whopping lvl 18 NE hunter and I've played with my friend one time.
It's a fairly low pop server, but I was wondering if anyone here by chance plays on it? I could use another friend or three to group with who know the quests.
I tend to stumble on the quests more than actually do them lol.
I would rather stick to a low pop server, I never want to wait in a queue to get in game.
I play usually after 11pm-1 am eastern time (after 9-11pm my time and there are not many people on anyway and I would be suprised if anyone on here plays at that time anyway.)
Opinions? Spam?
noted-
I thought they evened out the racial perks? Or does horde actually make that big of a difference?
Or is playing horde more like playing a DE Sorc(edit: or rogue) in GS? everyone and their pet cat had one somewhere on their account.
:newbie: :sorry:

The latter. Low population servers suck. So does Alliance. Go to Dunelawl and power to 70.

Low population servers I've noted tend to have auction house pricing issues, its harder to get into a group for instances etc.

You don't want a low population. You want to wait till it's your prime time to play the game and find a server with a High* population.
You want there to be a lot of people on the server when you are going to play the game or else it could be tough to find groups.
If you ever have to wait then they will usually allow transfers off the server.

Get carbonite(the free version) addon if you're having trouble with quests imo. http://www.carboniteaddon.com/ Lightheaded is another nice addon for the quests that might not be so obvious to everyone or have a shit drop rate & make new players question if they're even killing the right mobs. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html

I started out alli too because my boyfriend and his friends played alli. Switched to horde after having to power up marks for a draeni cat in the 60s then for glad gear at 70. Too many "heroes" on alli. Hit up curse and the curse client. The add ons make your life much easier.

What do you mean by these two statements? I R dense.

Wow, thanks for pointing me in that direction!
Questhelper is AMAZING. I will never play without it now. :thanx:
I tried carbonite first and it made WoW freeze up in combat for some reason. maybe it was just my PC.

Didn't Carbonite start charging recently?
I think so, they still had a free version that I tried. Maybe I had to pay for the version that didn't fuck up your system? lol
Comparing the two -- GH was much better if you just need something to help with quests. And much less clutter on your screen than carbonite. You hit your Map button and it shows you locations for every quest you currently have.
However it does seem to make things just a little slightly sluggish than without it. If I Run a dungeon or PvP I'll probably just disable it so it doesn't bog me down at all.
(keep in mind I run the game on 756 mb of RAM and a 256mb ram video card. so I run a little slow anyway.)

Looks like they're working on an update for it. Atm it is out of order, I didn't realize that when I posted since I haven't quested for a couple weeks anyway. I'll still hold out for it to be updated over quest helper.

On my first levelling character (alliance), I got sick of watching alliance teams lose and be completely disorganized when it came to anything but AV (Alterac valley). To get the honor and marks for gladiator gear (after 70) and to get a designer cat mount in the 60s, I ran BGs for marks/honor.
I'm trying to compare currently how much of a time waster it is to lose so many AV's as horde vs losing everything but AV as alliance. I haven't had much time to play lately however.

I'll let you in on the mighty horde secret strategy to the battlegrounds:
WSG - Camp middle because you get more HKs and honor there. Winning doesn't matter, being first in killing blows is all it's about.
AB - Fuck defending the flags. Fuck fighting on the flags. Go out and win the Killing Blow contest.. and above all else, ninja the stables because that matters most.
AV - Leave 5-10 in the starting point to stand perfectly still in case the alliance want to take it over. Take 3-4 and defend the mine or Snowfall GY. Take 10-15 undergeared and underleveled toons and go all out on offense. Take the rest of the raid and make it look like no one has a clue how to play the game in an effort to confuse the alliance.
EotS - Zerg base to base to base and continue to run in a clockwise rotation to confuse the alliance into thinking they are winning. The flag in the middle is more important than holding any number of bases. The flag above all else.
I haven't played enough Strand to figure out the true nature of Horde strategy.. but I will soon discover it.
