View Full Version : YOU ARE THE ANIMAL!!
This rant is for the asshole who let his dog run loose tonight on Aurora Avenue in north King County and all others who think pet ownership is something to take lightly.
I am the driver that crushed your beautiful dog to death under my wheels tonight. Dark night, dark dog, busy highway, what the fuck were you thinking to let it run loose like that?? Now it is roadkill you asshole. I hope you live a miserable life, die a painful death, and get reincarnated as the pet of a negligent owner.
circle of life. it wasn't smart enough to get out of the way.

Atleast you killed it. Having a stray on the loose is worse.

That is horrible :( To speak for the owner though, perhaps the dog jumped or dug under the fence?
My dog keeps jumping higher and higher fences and we search franticly for her so now we tie her up in a fenced yard and I take her biking instead.
Maybe it was a new dog and they didn't know it could jump so high. But I agree, there are a lot of owners who could care less about what their pets are doing outside. They deserve everything you said.

Ish, Mint. I am sorry that happened to you. It is always traumatic to hit an animal. Hopefully, the poor creature did not suffer. :(

Yeah there are sometimes extenuating circumstances. I was just venting last night because I was upset as sometimes it is pure laziness on the pet owners part. I mean actually leashing and walking a dog is such a burden ya know? Anyway thanks for the kind words y'all.

Wow that sucks.. I would hate to run over a dog and kill it or hurt it bad.

I drive eight hours a day and the only thing I had killed up to now was a stupid pigeon that flew into my windshield when I was entering the Cherry Street tunnel in Seattle. Felt bad about that but cried like a baby over this silly dog.
Hitting animals isn't fun. At least you have a bus, so you're not going to injure yourself.
I've busted up my car on three deer. I finished off two of them with a knife, and I finished the other with a baseball bat I used to carry around in my car.

That's good eatin. Specially tenderized like the third.
Only one of them would've been alright to eat, as that one only hit it's head on the car.
The other two were straight up body-shots, and I'm sure their guts were busted and nasty.

You sliced their throats? Good man for putting them out of their misery, that takes balls to do it with a knife or a bat.
[Edited on 2-11-2004 by Hulkein]
Sure did.
I used my best judgement on the situation, and came to the conclusion that these deer WEREN'T getting back up anytime soon. They would likely have been eaten alive by roaming dogs or something similar, if I had left them laying there.
The bat wasn't too messy; just a few quick swings. The two I actually had to knife were a bit of a hassle. I ended up coming out of both looking like I'd just murdered a family of four and rolled in the aftermath, and one of the suckers gave me a few nice bruises before finally giving in.

Oh, man, Mint, are you serious? That's rugged, I'm sorry you had to go through that.
I've ditched a car twice to avoid hitting a dog, but once I ran over a raccoon. Didn't kill it, either, and it was flopping around, so I backed the car over it a couple times until I was sure it was dead. I couldn't leave it to suffer, but I'm not ashamed to say I cried. I've hunted for meat, but never for "fun."

Daaaymn dood, remind me to never get hit by your car..shiit
There are a few people that let their dogs run around in our neighborhood even though we have leash laws. They just seem to miss being caught. I try to tell the people I know it isn't safe, but they still let them run loose. Idiots. Our dog has a nice big fenced in backyard to play in.
I ran over an armadillo once. Those are pretty common 'dead on the road' animals in TX though (even though I still felt bad). Here in TN it's skunks and opossums.
Sorry you had to go through that.

You're nuts. When it comes down to the dog or potential injury to myself, that dog's going down quick.

Yeesh Peam, thats something, credit for having the gumption to end that deers suffering.
Yah, I agree with Peam, I'll do my darndest while not putting myself or anyone else in danger to avoid an animal that strays onto the road, but there is no question about which will lose if made to chose between safety and the animal in question.

Sucks, mint. It might not be the owner's fault, though...I know our dog can actually climb/jump privacy fences (I've seen it happen, it's crazy)
Peam, next time just try and stab them in the eye.
From the open, or should I hide in the shadows?

I know, I know, it IS nuts, but reflexes took over both times. Once I did a zig-zag-zig and just fishtailed away, the other time I lost control and did a donut into the ditch. Looking back, I can think, "Man that was fucked up," but I'd mebbe do it again.
