So, the dogs must have scratch or chewed the power cord for my other laptop and killed the power. Went to Bestbuy to pick up a new one, but they didn't have one that could juice up the Gateway RX that requires 120w. My warranty plan with them covers the adapter, but it will require 7-10 day shipping.

Question is... Can I use a Laptop AC Power Adapter that only works for 90w? They have an adapter there that they said I could buy and return with no restocking fee if I wanted to try it. Will it be a fire hazard or screw up the laptop in any way?

I've used under-powered PSs in the past in 'emergency' situations. Make sure you minimize the use of excess power, like remove your battery to lessen the charging load, don't use the CD/DVD drive, reduce the brightness on your screen, etc. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to play WoW.
