So, I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in Munich over the next few months. Does anyone know anything good to do?
I'll likely be with a bunch of old married people and looking to go out on my own at night\weekends. However, the last time I was in germany it didn't go so well. So advice is welcome.
thx.

Wield the sword of Gideon and kill all the tarr'rist scum.
I dunno. Why can't you just kick it with old people? How fucking psychedelic would German bingo parlour on European designer acid with the senior citizen club be? For real, dawg. You know ParkBandit gets his thang on like eins-vei-trai.

haufbrauhaus is a ton of fun some other things you might want to do...
The olympic park is a cool place to hang out. See where Black Septemer kidnapped the Israelis.
Visit the Dachau concentration camp.
Also if you have time travel to some of the surrounding countries. You can do Lichtenstein in about 2 hours.
Innsbruck and Zurich have some neat things to see.
I would definitely take a day to go to Luzern and take the cable car to the top of Mt. Pilatus. Check the weather first though, there's a lot of fog there and you want to be there on a clear day. It's an amazing trip.
Have fun, I loved Germany.

If all else fails, you could do some German scat porn.

Can you go anywhere outside Munich or just stay within the city? If you can travel, how long/distance? I lived in Germany for 5 years and have been back for 1 month long trips twice... lots to do there so my answer would be based on how much/long you can travel. If it's just in Munich, there's still a ton to do there also.
And when would you be there? Time of year also determines the answer :)

Lucky bastard. I wish I could travel like that for work.
You better have some good stories when you get back so I can live vicariously.

Alot to do in Munich, most has been mentioned. Also drive south to various castles (Mad King Ludwigs places and his father's castle for examples) etc along the border of the Alps. Man I really sometimes wish I'd gone native in Germany. That decade there was just too much damn fun.
Also fond of heading a bit north and to my old stomping grounds of Colburg, which used to be on the East/West German border, very scenic castle and town there plus a few good clubs.
Should be a few Green Goose Gasthaus's around as well in Schwienfurt, Nurnburg etc. Use the trains they are cheap and consistant. :) Get away from the usual tourist hangouts etc.

Bring History books with you. Go to German libraries. Check out German history books. Read both sides' takes on the last 100 years or so. You will be absolutely astounded at how much they differ. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. If you get time to geek-out at all, that is.

I am multitalented! I do other stuff besides dinosaurs sometimes you know! I just happen to know that dinosaurs are cooler than all the other stuff.
But if I must do it, I must.
It's no Denver, but it's German, so here you go. My official suggestion for Germany.

Well, I'll be at the various military commands around the Munich, Stuttgart area. So, I'll be there mostly during the day but I may have a few weekends to do my thing. This would be between next weekend and may.
