View Full Version : Valentines Day
So what do you have planned for you and your love one this Weekend?
I have a day in the Glen (Shipley Glen) exploring rocks and forests, sipping local tea an munching clotted cream and cake to start with. Probably get naughty out there.
Then riding home to have a romantic dinner (I've made and set up :D ). Get naughty again.
Then quick change, go out and party and probably not stop till Monday.
We aren't really into the mushy side of Valentines day but it's a great excuse to have a really great day and spend the whole time together.
Also I bought her a pretty necklace and some awesome shoes she pointed out the other day. Score.
So, let's hear it people.

I'm sending him to a masseuse, then we're going out to dinner(alone!!). He already has all the material things he wants, except video games & I don't pick those out for him.

I don't usually celebrate the holiday. I have a girl coming into town and I haven't thought it through beyond, pick her up.
We'll see how it goes.
Im going to stage a mock public execution of a christian. I have been sharing my plans with everyone at work that knows I am single and asks what I am doing for V day anyway.

Meh, we're going out to dinner today. We normally go out to dinner on the weekends anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. We are going to a restaurant we haven't gone to in a while rather than the usual favorites, which is nice.
This "holiday" isn't important to me at all. It never really was, but when you're in a great relationship, the need for a special day to do what we do all the time seems unnecessary.

For everyone to be happy you would need to split it down the middle. The girl gets the BJ and the guy would get the steak.

That creates a rather funny image.
Man is chewing heartily on some garlic bread as his wife is hard at work pleasuring him.
Man says, "This is some damn fine garlic bread."
He glances down as he notes his wife halt in her efforts.
He quickly adds, "Oh, you're doing great work too, honey, thanks." as he brushes a few stray crumbs from her hair.
We're getting together with friends to play video games.
The first year we were married I set up a little "things I love about you" treasure hunt for her to find when she got home, and at the end was a little jewelry trinket tailored to her style. She did the whole "awww" look and seemed to be near tears at the thought and effort I put into it and all was good.
Later, though, she told me she hated Valentine's Day and that I shouldn't worry about it in the future. So now we usually treat it like any other day. Her birthday is the 15th, however, so I still get something to stress over this time of year.
Farn I love your idea. Good stuff.
Also I don't eat steak so garlic bread is an awesome substitute.
Actually, I mean garlic bread with cheese!

The womenfolk in my experience have enjoyed employing this little tactic in various situations. Luckily my wife actually means it when she says she doesn't like Valentine's Day and thinks it's dumb. She does use the tactic in other areas, but I've taught her that if she says something to me, I'll believe her rather than assume that my wife lies to me.
Me: "Why are you angry?"
Her: "You did [this]."
Me: "But you specifically said [that]. So, should I just assume you lie to me?"
A couple days of smoldering anger resulted, but it helped drive the point home and was an investment well worth the sacrifice.

I really mean it when I say I don't really care about Valentine's Day. I honestly don't expect flowers, chocolate or gifts. If I get them, great. If I don't get them, that's okay too. Hell a coworker got stuff and I thought that was really sweet, but I never thought badly of my husband for not doing it. Actually, I'd rather him surprise me with stuff when it's not Valentine's Day.
I'd rather him surprise me with stuff when it's not Valentine's Day.
I think that's the key. I've brought my wife flowers, cards, ice cream and such before, but never on Valentine's Day. I usually do it when I know she's been having a rough day, but I enjoy doing the odd spontaneous just-because surprises as well.

I'm going to get myself a nice bowl of pistachio icecream, and then write myself a card that will say, "Stop sucking @ Valentines day", and then hope it will sink in for next year.

Anyway, our uber-romantic Valentine's day plans consist of a fabulous pizza (delivery) and Gears of War 2.

Sometimes we celebrate, sometimes we don't.. pretty much like CT in that respect. This year I got a box of Esther Prices dark chocolate chocolates (yum), a card, some sex toy. Last night we went out to eat (my choice) to an amish restaurant.
Today I thought I'd start him out in a great mood for the day, we then went out to eat for lunch and had a romantic stroll through Sam's Club.

It's all homemade. They have a poppy seed salad dressing that I absolutely love. The place is huge, while we were eating in a huge dining room - they had a banquet hall with probably 500 people eating the same food. The food is always good, the quality didn't suffer one bit with a drove of people there.

I'm in an actual couple, and we do show each other that we love one another when it counts. We also enjoy V-day because it's an excuse to go to a really expensive and delicious dinner. I fucking love V-day. :D
Well, I believe you but from what I've seen it's the exception not the norm. I dunno, the idea of my boyfriend showing me he loves me on a day the whole world is expecting him to show it, just cheapens it. WHen it's a random day and I'm having the worst day in my life at work, and I come home to see flowers on the table and my favorite thing for dinner.. it means so much more to me.

Hmmm....If by "flowers" you mean "dinosaur toys", and your favorite thing for dinner is something I can order with my phone machine and have delivered, I am your perfect man.
a/s/l?!!
We should get together sometime.
Frith's Inn. Latched room. Locker your pants first. It will save time.
See? I'm romantic. It doesn't even have to be a special occasion!

Oh I'm sorry. You are too old for me and also I am not near Florida.
If you were 14, we could do the thing at the Frith's, but...Well...I guess I could do you this one favor, but you'd OWE me!

Nice! I love Brazilian restaurants. They bring the meat to you table and cut it for you?
They have one in LA too, excellent. The only Brazilian place I've gone to is in Vegas. I've been there a few times.

Yep, bring the meat on skewers and cut it right there for you. Plus the best sides, salad bar, and rolls ever. I ate until I couldn't swallow anymore, lol.

Way to assume it was his fault...
I told him to either stop smoking in the house with our baby or her and I will leave.
He chose himself.
There's a lot of story but this isn't the thread for it.

There's a respond to rep thread, btw. You could've responded to your rep there. Also, if you don't care if anyone thinks it's you, why bother responding a month later?
Also, WTF does how long you've played GS for have anything to do with whether or not it's you in your avatar?
