Not sure what is up with the British hate though!

Probably because you call them 'crisps' and eat them in flavors like 'prawn' and 'ketchup'.

Ditto on salt & vinegar (WTF is Hawaiian Style?), especially Cape Cod.

Those sea salt and peppercorn are pretty awesome, too.

Oh, and I just finished a bag of these:

I am not British but just happen to live here. So I don't really call them crisps.

I like the beef flavor ones not sure of any other off beat ones I like but Walker's (Lay's) is having a thing for new flavors and they got some weird ones.

The squirrel one scares me but I do love some onion bhajis!

Anyone remember the uber-thick ruffles from a decade or so ago? Those in Sour Cream and Cheddar were worth killing for.

I'm a Sterzing's fan, myself, but they're fairly local. They're like Lays, but greasier and saltier. Dip 'em in ketchup and you have heaven.

I also love Salt and Vinegar chips. These are by far the best I've ever had. They don't have that metallic acid taste that most vinegar chips have.

Lays Salt & Vinegar (big grab)

I can't believe how many others enjoy the intense flavor as well. I don't feel like a complete odd ball because of my <3 for them anymore. Yay.

This is going to sound odd, but....

I went into a K-Mart once for the oddity of a sun tea container because I'm awesome like that, and they had a HUGE display of all the Herr brand chips. I also got the same coveted bag and they kicked ass.

I just never think of going into a Kmart.

I always go with potato chips first.

Herr’s. Plain or Ruffles.
Lays. Plain, Ruffles or Wavy.
Utz. Plain or Ruffles.

If I do a flavored potato chip its Utz Crab Bay Season or Lays Sour Cream and Cheddar.

Then we get into flavored chips...

Doritos. Nacho Cheese. The combined bags... Pizza and Ranch.
Utz Cheese Puffs.

Then tortilla chips.

Utz wins with mini round bubbly goodness.
Otherwise its fresh fried authentic.
