Hasina

I swear if I find out who spells up these rats... I'll take them, string them up, slowly cut off eat of their fingers, burn off all their hair, saw peel back all their facial skin, and stick a fire-poker up their ass.

IT'S REALLY NOT FUNNY! :grr:

Report and the GMs will take action. Spelling up critters is against policy.

Mabye the good folk of the landing are doing it....while chanting

"Kill The Brats! Kill The Brats!"

If you catch someone doing it, it can be consider mechanics abuse or disturption of other people's enjoyment of the game. Report and assist about it to give GM's a heads up. It really is a jackass thing to do.

yeah, i end up spending an hour swinging at one stupid little rat. It's like... Come on! I'm trying to move up to Kobolds here! Be considerate!

Psh.

Just hunt nymphs.

Overlord.. just.. Wow is all I have to say for that Avatar.

And I think people who do this belong in bob's thread about people who think they are funny.

Takes you that long you did something terribly wrong. Seggovian, a halfling wizard at level 1 (and still a -15 ST bonus) could still annihilate rats on his own

i end up spending an hour swinging at one stupid little rat.

After that first 15 minutes, why not just go find another rat?

Hasina
02-08-2004, 04:21 PM
I'm too determined to kill it after 15 minutes... I can't skip over it until it's dead. I get kinda crazy about these things.

Have you hunted rats recently? They got a big AS/DS boost when GS4 came.

Bobmuhthol

No they didn't. They got an AS/HP bonus.

I can't see it. :grr:

Hasina

okay... it doesn't really take me more than a few extra seconds... but still, it's like... i have a lesser chance of hitting the rat and killing it in one hit and that's annoying.

Is it?

ALright, it's still fucking lame to do, but yeesh. It isn't as if idjits are casting Spirit Strike on the rats.

(Are they?)

Yes it is and yes they do.

Why bother posting if you don't know fuck all about the thread?

Here goes, fucktard. (https://www.play.net/gs4/gamepolicy.asp)

Now find me in there where it explicitly says, "Spelling up rats is against policy."

I'd have a brew while I waited, but I'm at the office.

Spelling up rats or any other creature is indeed against policy. Durr durr durr.

There are many "gray areas" in terms of defining what is acceptable competition, and what is abusive behavior. In general, Simutronics will not get involved in any player vs. player conflict which is confined to a small group of players. However, if such conflict overlaps to other players, or causes a generally disruptive influence on GemStone IV in general, the participants will be warned. Simutronics reserves the right to determine which behavior is considered abusive.

StrayRogue

SEND[Ozias] That sounds like disruptive behavior. In general, you should use REPORT to let us know about it while it's happening, then ASSIST REQUEST and give details to a Game Host.

Nakiro

Okay, I'll admit, spirit strike is a little harsh. But a dim, look, and maybe a set of guards?

Galleazzo
02-09-2004, 11:39 AM
Yeah, and I can make up a send too to say what I want. Mebbe I can get a better name. Ooo!

SEND [Bardon] Yes, StrayRogue has nothing between his legs, but that is not germane to gameplay. Kindly refrain from discussing his state as a eunuch within Gemstone IV.

StrayRogue

Ha, I can post the log if you wish. And it'll be on the official boards any moment for the GM to confirm or deny. Fucking retard.

Oh, and thanks Peam, for being that instant too quick for me.

Guards? No. Anything else I'd dispelll or walk away from. I have to walk away from half the creatures there anyway because I can't hit them.

Waa, waa, waa, cry me a river, StrayEunuch. What a geek.

Spelling up creatures could be an interesting roleplaying situation, so I would be against a flat-out ban concerning the practice.

However, spelling up random creatures for no rhyme or reason could be seen as a reportable offense. I would much rather get together a party to hunt the culprit down and take the law into your own hands. Running to the GameMasters isnt always the best course of action.

Rats in gs4 have like 30-40 health points (instead of 18-22 in gs3), around 40 AS (instead of -5). Ds was never an issue with them..

I'm for spelling them if people are scripting like madmen, beside that, bah, yes, it's fun

hehe:socool::socool:

Rats have 40 AS now? Duuude. That's got to get a lot of newbies killed now.

yes, when it started live i still had a new char, i was almost kill in one shot, 40 as with 30 avd, ouch.

Overall most low levels monsters got more AS and health.

moral of the story: until you have 70 DS in defensive, get massies!

Nah, they have an AS that's like 30. Still, got my ass kicked when I was level one. THey also have different DS. some have -5 and others have 15. Yep.

Latrinsorm

I don't know why anyone hunts rats. To me, it's always messages or nymphs (or iron as a last resort).

i found me a rat with 50+ ds and swung at me with a 80+ as damn thing chased me around too, he knew he was tough!

i spell up rats some times. Just to see how high i can get it DS and AS. then i'll kill it. leaving a super rat around isnt very nice. but imagine a rat with the power to kill a capped character. heh since rats can go up in trains now. ...

TheEschaton

Bah, everyone knows the way to go is 0-5 in Ta'Vaalor delivering drinks to the guards. It's the easiest shit in the world, I can make 5 trains in a day.
