Well, the picture above was the last thing I needed before I get on the plane to the wonderful beach without an ocean known as Iraq.

Two years ago, you couldn't have paid me enough to go. Now, you couldn't pay me enough not to get the fuck out of DC.

I'm getting a lot of work done on Tiny House while I'm gone, and hopefully when I get back, I will appreciate it a lot more like my "home," instead of just the place I bought with my ex and I'm still living because the housing market sucks. I need these four months to clear my head of all the bullshit that's happened over the past two years. Divorce, my job turning into a giant suckfest, getting involved with a 19 year old, becoming a fairly religious pagan, and so on. 18 hour working days in the desert can make all your petty problems in the real world go away, or so I hope. Who knows, maybe I'll come back more broken than I already am, but life is an adventure, no?

Hopefully the stock market will turn around and I'll make money on the Wisdom of PC/Bernie Madoff idiocy (not looking too good right now...heh) and I'll be able to properly celebrate my return with y'all. Hell, I'll still be up to do another DC/MD/VA thing (or even a Northeast/Mid Atlantic PC thing in Atlantic City) regardless of how that investment thing turns out after my financial briefing on how I'll be making my normal salary +35% danger pay, +35% post differential, +10% night differential, +50-60 hours of overtime per week.

Anyway, I've said it before, but y'all folks out there in PC land are the best. From the wonderful topless PC ladies, to the meltdowners, to the political trolls, and all the rest. I couldn't have hoped to end up with a more real bunch of folks than those I've met here...in virtual reality. See y'all on the flipside.

What branch are you in, your dog tags normally say the branch. Unless the Marines have different dog tags then the rest of the DoD, or are you a contractor? Either way how are you doing 4 months, the Marines are 7-12, Army is 12-14, and not sure about Navy or Air Force? I am in Iraq right now on my 3rd tour, and almost done with it, and hopefully done with deploying all together for the next few years. Where are you gonna be at?

I'm a civilian DoD member, hence why no service is mentioned. 4 months is the rotation for my assignment. I also managed to not be in Baghdad, which was another preference of mine. I'll be at Camp Speicher.

Twice.

Where is that located, I have been to a bunch of places in Al Anbar and western Iraq like Ramadi, Hit, Haditha, Ubaydi, Husaybah, and Al Qaim. Any of those sound familiar to ya, or what town is the base your at close to?

You have no idea how much free ass and beer you can get tonight.

All kidding aside... let us know AHEAD of time when you land back in the states so we can do it proper.

It'll be the middle of July or thereabouts with all the changeover time. I'll post something here when I'm back in town for real.

Ok. Why the hell were you passed out in the men’s room of a strip club and thrown out twice?

i bartended at a place owned by a minority owner of Camelot. I drank for free. Boobs in my face and free drinks = rob overindulges copiously. If you pass out in a bathroom of a strip club with your feet poking out of the bathroom door, they generally kick you out.

The second time I got thrown out was for getting in a bouncer's face because he wouldn't let my friend inside. He picked me up by the scruff of my neck and threw me down the stairs. I decided to stop arguing at that point. We went next door to Sign of the Whale. They'll let ANYONE in that place.

Why don't your dog tags have your gas mask size on them?!

I didn't really have a choice when they were made, they were issued to me the way they are. I'm just happy they let me put my religion on there.

Yes, because being a Norse Pagan is going to be AWESOME in Iraq
