Way more DS in offensive, so they can skip the stance dancing.

Yeah i can see that, but it seems silly, set up marcos and go guarded right after you cast and spend those points on spells

Creatures stance you at later levels. Dumping major RT on you, and often leaving you Prone and in offensive using maneuver based spells, CMANs, and abilities. Without spell tanking that will mean death to a lot of pures. With a high enchant shield and brawling DS you have a fighting chance. Tack on spell tanking and you're golden.

You also get absolutely shafted if you get disarmed with a runestaff. No disarming with a shield/brawl setup.

That makes really good seanse, but personally i prob. will never go shield brawling, just for the pure fact i think a wizard should use a staff, from a RP stance anyhow. Of course if i start dying a lot i might change my mind lol

There is atleast 1 "Staff" that is mechanically a shield. It is 7x IIRC, but good luck prying it out of the hands of its current owner. Best thing a wizard could do is get ahold of some mage rechargeable gems and have a cleric bless 202, 211, 101, 102, 103, 107, and 303 in them. Those shouldn't be TOO hard to recharge if you're careful, and offer a pretty good amount of AS/DS for a healthy duration.

Spirit Barrier is pretty awesome for a bolting or Immolation build wizard as it does not effect Bolt AS.

I train in shield and brawling and undead doesn't stand a chance against my haste/voln kick! ;]

I also like having an open hand to make picking up items and such much less of a hassle.

Finally it's good to have the pimp hand ready for smacking dumb people.

There's an awesome verb called swap.

I'm sure it's very awesome. But as I stated before, I like having it ready. Not swapping, then having it ready. ;]

I don't understand what difference it makes. You can set which hand does the looting.
