Can someone give me a hand about wikis

Ok, so, I'm debating on changing my site over to a functional wiki, but I'm at a total loss. I found I'd have to change my hosting which is going to cost an extra $100 per five years. That's really not the hard part to understand, what I don't get is they offer nothing for Windows.

So, what do I do? I'm not too familiar with ANYTHING about this, so using any techincal terms will really not help me. How can I get a wiki up on my site without having to use Linux? If possible, then what will I need to do to get my hosting to support it?

Remember, simple terms.
