How do you enter the game?

Just wondering what methods you guys use to log on to Gemstone.

I tried installing Ultimate Simutronics Game Entry, and crashed my computer. Permanently. It sucked.

I use Jamus' AutoSGE.

I use USGE and SGE depending on whether I want to use PsiNet or not.

I never had a problem with USGE. I tried AutoSGE when i was testing out PsiNet, but i would prefer to use USGE. Too bad you cant log on to Psinet unless you have SGE or the AutoSGE.... :( :no:

What the heck is the USGE? It sounded like it is but isn't linked to PsiNet.

I use the SGE. I have no clue what USGE is. But psinet works fine.

Usually I'll just SGE into the Wizard, but after taking a break for awhile I'll SGE into Stormfront and load up the webpage to go into Wizard after. I like to know what spells I have on.

Actually yea the do. heh i dunno it it works with gs4 or even why you would want to use it...since you can set your own stats.

I have to disagree with ya bob. but your entitled to your opinion. I tried both i prefer USGE. :) And it looks better too!

Because I ran USGE, and it didn't have a system icon tray, and you have to log in and.. stuff. With AutoSGE, I make two clicks, and I'm done no matter what account/character/game I'm logging in.

well i guess thats an arguement. how ever since i rather not have it run in the background at all times and take up system resources which is a nice thing USGE is better. and with USGE its a double click and just a matter of selecting your account. but i guess your reason has validity to you.

Uh, convenience is better. I'm sorry for wanting the most convenient and easy-to-access program as opposed to one that takes more effort to use.

Isn't the entire purpose of a player-made SGE to be more convenient than Simu's in the first place?

A lot of the time I don't have AutoSGE running either, but that's because I either don't play or log in once and never quit. Internet explorer, right now, is taking 30MB of memory. AutoSGE takes 680kb. If it affects your computer at all, don't be cheap and install even a Celleron processor.

USGE isnt Simu made just like AutoSGE. And easy to access... Hmm 2 clicks more is really that much harder to do? We really are living in the world of lazy people :)

Yeah, it may be more convenient than Simu's SGE, but again AutoSGE is more convenient, which essentially completes the goal better than USGE.

BTW the system processor doesnt determine system resources nearly as much as the amount of RAM you have. Sorry for off topic.

only thing i dont like about SGE is that it doesnt store multi accounts for you. so if you wanna MA you cant as easy. I used it for a long time, but found the USGE and like it better. Also, i dont think SGE stores your username and password and USGE will, but i could be wrong on that last statement...

No, the SGE will store your User account and pw..just not more then 1 at a time..which is grand..cause I only have 1 account..

Exactly. They were being lazy. I happen to prefer the most convenient method over the one that 'looks good'.

Also, the SGE stores your account name/password for the last account you logged in.

which makes it great for you. its a good one dont get me wrong i just have multi accounts so i prefer to have a more useful prog. if i didnt have multi accounts or access to multi accounts i would use the SGE.
