I'm curious as to what others want to see happen with Paladins in the future (doesn't necesarily have to happen in 2009)?

Peronsally what I would like to see happen is to bump 1604 down to 1602, with the cost of purifying things like the Graveyard gate and mana bread costing 2 mana, and the cost of purifying a weapon increasing with the increasing of the lore training needed to prolonge the bless. Then bump 1613 down to 1604. The cost of the current and extremely weak form of Divine Vengence being 4 mana, with increased mana cost, damage, % of an outright kill and possibly targets increasing with lore training. And to fill in the 1613 gap, introuduce a Mass Pious Trail that increases in mana cost with the increase of the Slow effect.

I would like to see us being able decrease our Spell Hindrance by over training in armor.

I would also like to see the ability to infuse mass spells into our weapons with enough Spell Research and lore training.

And of course 1650, but that is a given.

The above is a x-post. My reply is as follows.

Divine Wrath not to be Divine laugh

Divine shield to increase parry percentage without a shield, and block percentage with a shield

Infusing a weapon and having the spell cast at our choosing rather than random

What I really really want?

The ability to bond to a suit of armor OR a shield like we do weapons as our capstone spell.

-For armor I'd like to see resistance to a particular crit, based on your Arkati's specific crits as seen in Divine strike (Kai=resistance to crush, Charl=resistance to puncture or whatever it is, or if none is chosen, encumbrance reduction (essentially meaning lighter armor).

-Shields would get double flares and the ability to infuse spells like weapons.

ok Farmer.

I like all of those.

but I have another idea for the armor. Instead of it getting critt resistance, we replace that with reduced spell incumberance? both on the paladin circle and minor spirit. I think that would come in very handy.

Fire flaring armor for Eorgina... ooooh nice. I like it.

It could work something like bard armor. Only much much better.

Getting GMs to move spells is a tough, tough sell. They will do it, but very rarely.

true. the last time i really remember them doing it was with clerics.

i can see were it would be difficult from a RP perspective as well. all of a sudden the spell list just switches around for no reason and shit. but seeing as how we don't currently have a Guild, i think they could easily fit it in RP wise.

Many spell tweaks/releases are completely OOC. They only usually bother to RP new spells.

yea, i don't remember any RP involved with bumping down ressurect.

anywho, they could accomplish the same stuff without switching the spell around. divine vengence and aura of the arkati can be amped out with lores. they could make pious trail variable like 1030, 2 mana for focused, 14ish for mass. purify is pretty useless to me personally, and the only way it could become useful is if it could neutralize a curse with enough lore training or something. same with guiding light, but atleast that has some use for paladins that want to carry around a shield or plate that can hold the damn spell.

Pious Trial is just a poorly thought out spell. Even in Mass form it still wouldn't be useful. How about you cast the spell on yourself, and it becomes passive. It triggers much like an empathic tug effect, and causes creatures to be warded by it when they attack you.

that would be sweet.

i dunno, personally if it had a mass form it would be pretty useful to me. i like to fight crowds, and right now i have to drop 1630 a couple times to bascially accomplish something similar in the effect of getting things to stop moving around so much.
