Any PC folks recommend for or recommend against any particular PvE servers? I'm a PvP wuss and I'm fucking sick of getting ganked while tyring to level on a PvP server. The transfer fee is not an issue. My toons are Horde if that maters.

It was matter of time that this was going to happen, so I'm not surprised. Trouble has been frustrated with PvP servers for a while now.

It depends on the guild and the people within it. If you're associated with one that has lots of people still leveling, it's not as difficult. But if it's already a raiding guild, everyone's established and don't really want to take the time away from raiding to help someone level.

Yeah I'm a wuss, etc., have at it all you want. I'm an easy target.

I have no problem with consentual PvP; for example I love BGs (and hate arena), but I get really angry when I'm trying to gather 10 blahblahs for whoever and I get insta-ganked by whichever class is OP at the moment. If you want to challenge me and we both know what's up, I'm all in. I know how to annoy most classes as a priest, when I know you're coming.

But really, I've hated being on a PvP server ever since my first toon made it out of the Barrens. I stuck around because of all the PC people who took care of me, from Alorg (Snatchwrangler) who sent me my first 14-slot bags (made by Nien btw) to Nekk (Some Rogue) whom I've been leveling various toons with with since 2005.

So really, who, if anyone, plays on a PvE server and if so, do they recommend it (for Horde)?

Someone in another thread recommended Moonguard as a good PVE/RP server and I have to say it's my favorite one. Long Que on peak hours though. I've been meaning to make a character on Dunmaul to play with all you other dorks and give PvP a try but I just haven't yet.

Furrowfoot and a few others I hear are still on Argent Dawn. I tend to get bored when I play on a non pvp server and end up going back to a pvp server myself but I do understand the frustration of ganking.

What I've tended to do is park my rogue in the same area I'll have the current character leveling in and if those who are attacking my character are skulls to him then I'll log in my rogue and dust em til they decide to spirit raise.

Level to 80 on a pve server & then transfer back to whichever pvp server you like.

There's only a 30 day cd on transfers now & they lifted the restriction on pve to pvp server transfers.

Eta Ravenholdt is a medium pop rp/pvp server & horde outnumber alliance 2:1, I rarely get ganked leveling.

You should join BA imo we need a shadow priest that's not spec'd 5/5 into retard.

Yep I agree Ravenoldt isnt bad for ganking. That is where I spend most of my time playing and a bit of time on Dunemaul. I've just had crap luck with guilds, which means I end up just dicking around in battlegrounds to much at various brackets for a distraction.

Horde or Alliance? I know a few of the guilds are pretty decent Horde side, Alliance I hear is not so hot for non-asshole guilds.

Horde side. The only Alliance characters I have are on a non pvp server I dont play on due to the boredom factor of a non pvp server. :) I've just not had any luck hooking up with a good guild now that I'm interested in instances and raids.

It's too far & few between to find a dk who has done enough research to figure out what rotations to use while tanking to keep themselves from taking gigantic hits or wiping the group because they didn't realize 'Oh hey that mob there is beating the shit out of the healer. I should fix that.'

The new Fade mechanic is nice though, dropping all threat for a few seconds.

Problem is, they start casting their dots on the target before the tank even engages it. Last night.. between Kovman and Arth.. I was like "WTF, Is this your first fucking raid ever!?" I couldn't put vigilance on them both!

3 warlocks died 23 times last night of full 25 man Naxx.. averaging 8 deaths each.

Rogues averaged 5
Mage averaged 3
Hunters can't tell because FD = Death to WWS (DUMB)
Warriors averaged 5 deaths (We had one in dps gear who kept forgetting he was NOT a tank.. he had 10)
Priests averaged 4
Druids averaged 3
Shaman averaged 4 (Monkeysnarf accounted for 10 of them. STOP USING AN ANKH AS AN AGGRO RESET!)
Death Knights averaged 4

Wow.. you've had some really bad experiences with DK dps. We've had tremendous success in consistently having 3 of our DKs at the top of dps in most raids. I have more issues holding aggro from hunters and warlocks than I ever have with a deathknight.

No they're good dps, just too many retarded fotm re-rollers who have no idea what their class is or how to play it. I.E if you don't have tanking gear & spec, then death gripping mobs over to the raid group 'because I can lololol' before everyone is ready means gtfo.

Not like there aren't 500 other dks in any given queue waiting to take the place of a moron who gets the punt.

Yeah because of the whole FotM DKs are full of mouth breathers but once you establish yourself as decent it's not hard getting groups or raid spots. I still believe that 2h weapons don't exsist in Naxx....gonna try again on a fresh 25man Naxx tonight and see if I can't at least pull out a jawbone or something.

Cackle...I have no idea if Sin is Klaive...or if Cefka is(if you're familiar with that one). Sin usually seems to just troll whichever /1 he's in, while Cefka enjoys his time in trade & likes to be friends with people then turn on them asap with any personal info he has.

Yeah - I was actually able to level mining from 0->290 off of smelting alone though it set me back about 1200 gold to do it. Post 290 I actually had to hit nodes to skill though.

I don't even have a chance. I understand if its someone below me a few levels or above me by 5-someone who gets a perk for doing it. But an 80 picking on a 62 is retarded in my opinion.

A couple ally 80's were camping someone in my guild in outland the other night after me and a bunch of other members finished an instance, ported to shatt and our guild crashed every single ally town in hellfire till we found them hiding in their own town and camped them for an hour. Can make anything fun if you try hard enough.

The one I'm on has several rp guilds also. It's not the most progressed compared to some(well in bc it wasn't, wotlk/casualplayer will likely be different).

2:1 horde to allie ratio makes for little to no ganking if you're horde. If they do & if I feel like it I can say something in /1 or gchat & several 80's will come & wreck them.

I don't mind that at all.

That's how things should be, IMO.

It becomes lame if they stay and camp, but if they are running through and kill shit, so be it.

I can remember running into a raid of Resolution members in STV, heading to ZG. My, that was a memorable experience.

Lol Dimar is still shadow but I have stopped playing him for now. I moved my druid (60) to a PvE server though to test it out. He's Moonkin but has done some healing for instances because healers are tough to find.

Before you move to another server Drisco make sure you log in and check out your latency on that server. Don't want to be stuck on a server with high latency.

Examples, the following servers average latencys..

Ravenholdt 12ms to 21ms
Dunemaul 46ms to 70s ms
The Scryers high 90's ms to 120's ms
Argent Dawn around the same as Dunemaul as I recall.

Personally I love Ravenholdt's almost non existant for me latency, The Scryers makes battlegrounds etc a bitch.

It shows servers by time zone and location. My latency went from 250 or so on Dunemaul down to 50 or so on my new one.

Awesome info Trouble, book marked that section of wowwiki. No wonder my latencys are what they are on The Scryers when I play there. Makes sticking mostly with Ravenholdt a no brainer for me.

p.s: First time ever I decided to respec my ret paladin to protection spec, wow. I then decided to finally have him start wearing his 60's epic pvp gear so I leveled him once. Then went and soloed his way through Stratholme to the Chapel so he could get his epic mount. Talk about a powerful class/talent spec. Oh and he rules in AV more then he did before. lol. Though now I'm gonna go a head an cap him so he wont be 60th long. Fun taking on all those dks with a protect spec paladin.
