[Solhaven, Latirus Lane]
This lane is somewhat quieter, although quite a bit of traffic flows eastward. A group of children plays hide-and-seek among the cozy, well-kept cottages lining the cobblestone street. A halfling woman sits upon her doorstep, peeling apples into a small pot as she watches the children. You also see a cyclopean ocean titan.

Was that all redux, or a combination of 'dux and the arrows' ass-crappy DF?
(Only taking 15 points of damage on an end-roll of 545 is insane.)
Taking a glance at the AvD I'm sure the arrow is being used on some type of plate. He said he beseeched so he's a paladin in plate, probably has pretty good redux.

Mostly it was the DF. A 545 endroll with a .04 DF vs. plate comes to about 18 damage, which his redux must have reduced to 10, plus the 5 damage from the rank 1 crit.

A pair of golden sandstone pegasi kneel to either side of a brick walkway that leads north beyond the flowerbeds. Tall boxwood hedges line the south side of the esplanade, parted by a broad tiled path leading south. You also see an ebon-robed water ascendant, a jug of sanguine rum and an ancient linden tree.

I was going to point that out but...it is more amusing when someone else does it. Still, if a creature with a 700+ CS is going to cast a spell at me, I would rather it be like what I've seen so far: Unbalance, Sympathy, etc.

Done right, meaning you get a nice, big group around you so they can tear each other apart. Like level, it's difficult to justify the cast, so the spell doesn't get much use by empaths.

In the defense of that yeah, I noticed it was lame spells myself. At least you can actually hit them with bolt spells it looked like when I ran into a few.

They can cast boneshatter, which apparently, with those high endrolls, is a guaranteed 150+ damage and high likelihood of crit kill.
They also have an ability they whacked Farmer and I with last night... no warding roll, no nothing, but rank 1 bleeders appear on every body part.
We wrecked that mofo for using that ghey crap on us, we did.

I walked into this:
Bayside Road borders the North Market, bustling with noise and activity. The North Market Pier juts northwestward into the bay. A street peddler has set up her cart nearby, doing a brisk trade with thirsty shoppers. You also see a floating brown eye that is flying around, a cyclopean ocean titan, a drunken sailor, a small wooden sign and the peddler Gertie.
Obvious paths: northeast, east, south, southwest, northwest
Your disk arrives, following you dutifully.
A cyclopean ocean titan tries to ensnare you!

I was looking over the spell lists and realized I had completely forgotten about Elemental Disjunction and Spiritual Abjuration or whatever. Have these been useful at all in dealing with these insanely high level mobs?

Yes, Elemental Dispel and Spiritual Dispel cast at the same critter will cause them injuries. T
he Titans are just big-ass meatshields right now, but other types popped up before...one based on Illoke-type creatures
There are Ithzir and Triton clones...the Tentacled Robed (Acolyte/Initiate/etc) are the Ithzir, the Spectral/Scaled/Mutant Legionnaires are the Triton Dissemblers, complete with Implode
Sea Troll Overlords are MTKs on roids
Wurms are...wurms, and bolt-arrow prone, very high Melee DS.
Towering pillars of dark water, are GWEs I believe
There are frothing monstrousities, which for all purposes, are big spiders who are also bolt-arrow prone, IIRC.
Also, throw some Griffins into the mix, as well as mein constructs, spectral fishermen, night hounds, night mares...all with a watery theme, of course...
Oh yeah, and then there's the random mass mobbing by scarabs that has happened before, and the odd scarab like parasite that will appear out of thin air and burrow you
And, I don't believe either the GWEs or Ithzir have there unique ability...Motes and that Water Blast, respectively.

i know elemental and spirit dispell cause damage when cast upon something.
my question was whether or not elemental disjunction and spiritual abolition can cause damage in the same manner.
you would think that they would, because they are pretty much just mass spirit/elemental dispell, but i've never heard anyone talk about it either.
and the website doesn't say anything about it.

No, it doesn't...we tested it a few times to see if Elemental Dispel and Spirit Abolition, or Elemental Abolition and Spirit Dispel, or if Elemental and Spirit Abolition caused the hazy film damage

What Baelog said. Elemental/Spiritual Dispel work well in unison on creatures. The mass dispels do not appear to have the same ability. It would probably be just TOO good to be allowed. <mutters>

I know this theory will grind some people's gears, but I think it was a bone thrown to sorcerers because they cannot have access to any form of mass dispel. They got to keep their unique form of damage (without resulting to rods/scrolls). I still say it screwed over wizards the hardest.
Rapid Fire + Elemental Dispel = Better than 530.
What it DID serve to do was remove a very limited spell from a very valuable slot in the case of Empaths.

About 530... it's not useful if you're stripping spiritual spells from a spiritualist, but in the case of, say, sentries in Nelemar, I can usually strip 4 or 5--sometimes 6--elemental spells with them in one cast. I think, mana and time-wise, it turns out to be barely more efficient than 515+417.
We'll see how many I can strip when I finally get 125 or 150 ranks of Major Elemental--Naos said the benefit from spell ranks isn't capped, so eh.
I posted waaaaay back when (when we had that huge Elemental Abolition thread on the officials) that they should have added the crazy spirit/elemental reaction to the mass dispels, or they would remain largely useless spells. And they are.
I'm surprised no one's been griefing with them yet--you can literally wipe out a person's every spell, with no skill check, in seconds.
