So we're trying to track down what's been going on with the website and forums after the migration to the new server today.
In order to narrow down some things, Andy disabled the ability to post Long Posts (anything over 8k) and things are a little better and a little more stable, but we're not sure how long it's going to last. That's definitely not a fix, but just a patch to keep us up.
They're still digging and we appreciate your patience. I know I've been a little lost without the boards today so I know it's worse for some of you. (You know who you are...and most of us know, too.) ;)

It is sad, but so very true.

Maybe they could get a fucking Forum that doesn't totally blow gangrenous donkey balls.

Maybe they could take all the fucking cash they are milking us for and just switch over to something like SMF or PBB (or whatever) or any number of other FREE or CHEAP board softwares and maybe, just maybe, find an ISP that doesn't suck a marble through the intestines of a crack whore from her ass.

They won't use a standard forum format because they feel it would be too hard for the moderators to manage.
The forums were created for the ease of staff, not the players.

Christ, vBulletin is one of the easiest boards to manage.

I know it is. But because it would mean going to the individual threads to moderate, rather than them all together as it is now, it would stress old Emerdork or something.
Nevermind that closing a thread would actually mean closing the thread, whereas it's easy to start it up again from anywhere within the thread, causing him more aggravation to close it again. It's a stupid forum setup.

"Our forums are intuitive and easy to navigate!"
Classic line. Just thought I would throw in the link again. Did anyone try one for GS yet?

I'm in the minority but i don't have any problems with the officials. Its way better than yabbb or whatever the hell the free one that's not vbuliten is called.
the main issue they have is that the software needs to integrate into their account database and i guess thats why they went with custom boards.
Running a vbulliten based system myself i already know like 5 people who kcan how to hack into that system so i know i wouldn't feel comfortable with them using anything vbulliten or similar.

It doesn't change the fact that it's a sucky design. Old threads fall into the nether and nothing can be searched, making them useless unless you read them faithfully.
Some of us would rather get a root canal.

Those forums are disgustingly annoying. If it is a custom board they should put more effort into improving it. If there is any position that needs a full time employee, it is updating/upkeep/improvement of the boards, and the fucking website. 50% of the information on that thing is out of date, incomplete, or flat out wrog.

You can say that again. I remember the thread recently about asking to update the website, and I think it was Andraste that started with "the web staff" and it ended up being one guy. I nearly passed out laughing. I refuse to believe that information can't be updated on a continuous basis.
