If you've got a store around you, the liquidation started saturday. I didn't even realize- I'm headed over there this afternoon.

Good luck finding anything. The one near me had like 10% off on select audio equipment...and that's it.
I would imagine that as it gets closer to the end for them (around March), the deals will pick up.
Even their Christmas sales and discounts weren't impressive in my area. I scouted out a couple of new gadgets I wanted at CC, but ended up getting them at Best Buy due to their competitive pricing.

That was a good part of their trouble. Even with liquidation discounts, it's going to take some pretty steep cuts before their 'sale' prices finally become competitive with Best Buy, Amazon, or any number of others.
Remember that they just sell their entire inventory to a liquidation company for a certain amount. The liquidation company then tries to make money off of that. So they roll out these huge LIQUIDATION and GOING OUT OF BUSINESS signs but for the first few weeks at least the prices are usually higher than they were before, because there are some suckers who will come in and pay those prices because they believe they are getting a good deal. Wait till the end.

Just got back.
10% off everything. Which looked like it was already marked up 30-40% anyway.
I'm waiting.

Coming from someone who just got done with liquidation, the buyers are going to do discounts off of MSRP. Retail doesn't work like that, so much. The problem is that if you try to wait, the things you want will prolly be gone, because someone is willing to buy them at 20% off, knowing they might not be there at 30% etc.
Another hint. Deal with store management, NOT the liquidator. If a manager goes to find someone, you're prolly fucked. Hudson Captial is the main liquidator of CC as it was with Sound Advice.

If the liquidator owns the lot, what incentive do the employees have within the area of loss prevention?
Why not just let people run off with the whole lot?

Hudson works off of gross commission. CC did not.
19-year old sells a $2000 TV. While working at CC, he got 8 bucks an hour. Working with Hudson, he just made $100. ( 5% gross ) Management gets a bonus for selling the merchandise, which is why LP is still in place. These people don't have jobs anymore, which is why they're going to make as much $$$ as they can before they join the unemployed.
