EDIT: I think they changed the migration times around. 15 days to completely drop a weapon type seems reasonable to me. Expect to see me idle a lot. Heh.

I can live with the new migration times.

Have you been continiously converting from last month or did you just change your skills?

Remember that converting time is calculated differently for each converting time 'zone' thing your in. If you just did it, it bases the timer off the quicker beginning of month timer and not the uber-slow-everyone-hates timer.

On a side note, having quit archery for the umpteenth time, I'm giving away the following. IM me at Mooshoo16 if you want it.

An ornate gold filigreed bow case (shoulder worn, holds 40 lbs, weighs 3)

A gold-inlaid black ruic long bow (4 enchants)

Bundles of 100 of the following arrows

a bundle of red fletched ruic arrows (4x fire)
a bundle of sleek faewood arrows (4x blessed)
a bundle of red fletched ruic arrows (4x fire)
a bundle of rhimar and ruic arrows (4x cold)

Arcane Symbols.....................| 82 18.995 0 110 in-game hours
Magic Item Use.....................| 82 18.995 0 126 in-game hours

I'm confused at what that shows. Is that 82 skill or 82 ranks, or what?

Time to take back the archery gear and start hunting for those points eh?

It's months if you sit around and goalbot. Those numbers change FAST if you go out and earn XP. Dunno why, but they just do.

And shit I don't blame anyone for ditching archery. You hit hard, but you GET hit hard a lot. An archer solo hunter is gonna die five times as much as I do.

Archery is great, as long as you have the patience, know what you're doing, and not hunting over your head. Maybe it's different at older levels, I don't know, but at 20, I'm having a blast.

You mean an archer solo hunter that uses no tactics or skill and simply stands out in the open and tries to shove arrows into plate and breastplate armor wearing critters... right?

Archery is a very viable weapon class if used with proper archery tactics.

My ranger archer, at 40 trains, hunts about 5 levels above his head, no problem, in trali.

My warrior archer was having problems (I think its all in the aim and snipe, myself) so I put him back to two handers/polearms (was doing ranged/two handers). The problems were probably just from the fact that he was trying to uphunt by about 7 -10 trains, but I'm just impatient, and he was kneeling with a heavy crossbow!

Ye dont die much then.
My ranger archer rarely dies, and when she does its because of a stupid mistake rather than her not being a viable hunter.

Ok, I lowered one of my skills and raised a few others. Now, all the raised skills said ASAP, which must have meant when I got enough points from the lowered skill. I started with 40 hours in game to lower the skill. It dropped quickly to 11, I died, it went back up to 12. Stayed in game for like 24 hours, it went back to 11. 24 more, dropped to ten. SO going by what the edine said, that means that it dropped fast til it went over the 60 TP mark then slowed? Just HOW slow is it?

Kia

Slow:

In a 30 day period, the Skill Migrator allows 60 TPs to be converted at a rate of 1 point per 50 minutes. After those initial 60 TPs are converted, the system will convert an additional 20 TPs (for a total of 80 TPs) at 1 point per 250 minutes, in that 30 day period. If more than 80 points are converted in a 30 day period, the player has used up all of their rapid conversion time, and starts converting at the standard conversion rate of 1 point per 500 minutes. Once the 30 day cycle is up, the Skill Migrator starts over with the fast conversion rate of 60 TPs at 1 point per 50 minutes.

Slow. Real slow. Extremely slow. Watching paint peel is quicker. Having snail races is more exciting. Any slower and you would be dead.

Hope that helps.

What people got to remember is that the migrator is used to help us out a bit, but sheesh, it used to be that the only way you could migrate skills at all, ever, was to reroll. The migrator's a fuckload faster than relearning all those levels.

That made me sad. So back to archery. Maybe in 3 or 4 months I'll have enough for an e-bow.

Or how fast, yeah, I suppose. It's still the best deal though to just get your training right and not redo everything every time you get an uber kewl new weapon or get bored with your old hunting style.

When GS4 came out i was able to train my rogue in both OHE and Ranged weapons (only 1x in shield though) so i can switch back and forth between which works best for the critter i am currently hunting. Have to say i am pretty impressed so far with archery, and very pleased with the results i have gotten so far.

Edaarin, you can always just wait it out until the Festival of Oleani in May. You ( and everyone else) gets another FIXSKILLS at that time.
