How do y'all know what types the weapons are? I couldn't inspect them last time I tried (and believe me, I was trying). I was hoping that one that was just a warsword would be a falch or a broad, because that'd be perfect for me.
StrayRogue

Warswords are flachions.
Bobmuhthol
02-05-2004, 10:46 PM
Not necessarily. Warswords do not have a set base.
Some are falchions, some are broadswords, some are longswords, some are bastard swords.
StrayRogue
02-05-2004, 10:48 PM
No, or rather not anymore. They are now falchions. Though there are warswords out there which are of other bases, as Bob said.

look on table
On the oak table you see a scarlet-swept pale coraesine scimitar, a silver-hilt coraesine longsword, a massive coraesine sword, an eahnor-hilt coraesine short sword and a silver-hilt coraesine battlesword.
Halfsilver
02-06-2004, 01:27 AM
The longsword is mine. I have 150million silvers to back me up and I have been camped there for 3 days straight.. If you have your heart set on it, be prepared to have it broken.
that is all.

Well, I saved my migrator fix option in the hopes that I will get the weapon, yes. OR...I'll be nice and give it to my wife.
Yes, and the twohanders will go first, so hopefully they'll provide the buffer between the first two choices and my longsword, so I can get it.

I guess I dont understand the whole bonded weapon thing but if it is a weapon bonded to one character how can it be sold? Is it bonded immediately if you win it? Or does it become bonded over a long time?

Well, Minty one, I think this weapon bonding thing is to totally cut out re-selling. Then again, if I win a weapon of such caliber, one will have to PRY it out of my hand... For those who are not sure of these new breed of PURE Coraesine weapons, they have the following awesome properties (On top of the regular Coraesine which are Double strike & Air strike):
Quickening: When raised, the blade will cause you to speed up for a short period of time.
Tempest: Calls up a storm to knock down your enemies.
Orbing: The weapon will shift into a fist-sized orb for easy carrying. It will be DAMN COOL if this orb is swirling and floating around the person it belongs to!!
Thorns of the Wind: The blade will not allow anyone else to pick it up besides you, adventurer or creature.
Wind's Whisper: You may set a beacon point with the weapon, and if you should fall while wielding, the weapon will cry out to that point and alert those there you have fallen.
Fury: Shoots a stunning blast of air at an opponent.
In addition to these rather unique abilities, the weapon will flare with either a strong current of wind, or it will cause you to speed up and produce a second strike upon your enemy. Very rarely, it will conjure up a gust of wind so powerful it is likened to a whirlwind, and will carry your enemy to another location entirely.
====
These breed of weapon totally took over my desire for a Katana... Unless of course they produced a PURE Coraesine Katana!!
I did not even know I wanted this weapon until you posted that Sirinna. Now my life will be incomplete without it. :(
PS posted this originally in the wrong thread, wonder if that counts as part of my post count since I deleted it.

I find it highly amusing with this whole attuning thing, everyone knows how its going to be resold.
Uber Rich guy finds locker mule character that hasn't been reallocated or is set to be a weapon swinger. Gives them all his money. Then when he wins, he plays around with the weapon for a few months, maybe up to a year, to let things cool down regarding it.
Then, they go on Ebay or whatever and sell the character with the attuned weapon. This owner of the attuned weapon will basically be the rich man's whore who will pass from person to person until the end of time.
The other possibility requires a much longer gestation. If you hold on to anything attuned long enough, or find a good enough excuse and the original item creator isn't around anymore, the possibility exists that you could con some SGM into allowing the item to be transferred to another character.

well, as for giving it to a locker character, i don't think that is gonna happen. The merchant already said he's only going to see them to certain professions, and folks old enough to use 'em. He also said if he thinks ya don't meet those two criteria and you win the auction, he's gonna demonstrate the weapon with you as the target. So i really doubt some locker character is going to end up with any of them. Besides, who would waste a high level character, not to mention all that silver, just so they could sell it on E-bay? Myself, i'm wonderin' if he'll consider a trade in....old for new

The value of that weapon is greatly decreased since it will attune to the winner. There is zero resale value to the weapon.
It's a great weapon to be sure, but once people realize that it's going to be their weapon and only their weapon.. with no chance of selling it off in the future, I think the price will be less than 100 million.
If it wasn't attuned.. I would say the price would go above 200 million.

From what I understand, the date of auction/raffle will be announced well before hand on the GS4 Calander, in game as well as in the Merchant's tent.
Also, I think it might start off with an auction or two, where the winner of the auction/s will get first pick of which PURE weapon he or she want... The remaining will be raffled off.
Do correct me if I am wrong...

(Now me, I had a billion silver, I'd go to eBay. They say you can sell a million silver for about $15-17. I'd sell for $12, and then I'd fucking go to Cancun for a month.)

The only way the pure coraesine weapon will go for less than 100 mil is if the auction will be on a Tuesday morning at 4AM EST right after the game goes down for 3 hours for "maintenance" and the auction will be timed to last 2 minutes.
Then it would sell for 20 mil or so, depending on who's connection popped back on.
Otherwise, I guarentee that the character who wins this item will not be a "brand name" but instead a secondary characer of one of the ultra-rich, perhaps well known enough to meet V's criteria as an actual person, not a mule. Then, 5 months or so down the line, this character will surrepticiously change hands for a wad of cash.
Its either that or the character that wins it will be part of one of the "joint" accounts where a whole bunch of people have access and they'll sell slots like timeshares with their closest friends to use them.
Perhaps I'm cynical though.

It's going to be hard to unlock the special characteristics of te weapon. I just don't see someone spending 150m to whore out their secondary character.
for the raffles, I could see that happening.

02-07-2004, 01:08 AM
I've owned most of the edged and two-handed weapons people call Uber now, and used alot of the ones I didnt own, considering I have weapons that cost well over 100 million and I didnt get to choose the forms they take, ye 200 million seems cheap.
Remember though theres been NO major item auctions in the game in years, that alone makes the few auctions we do get that much more special. If I win the weapon, it will be as Ardwen and no way is he about to change hands or get shared. I collect items of power in general and great weapons in particular. This auction is almost a dream for a person of that type who has alot of liquid assets.

And as I paying customer I have every right to express dissapointment that I can't attend a raffle or whatever I want to bitch about just like a lot of people come here to vent over GS.
Khaladon talked to me about it and said he would bring up the matter for future events and also talk to this merchant in case he is going to have any future raffles.

More important than the one that was auctioned. When will the raffle happen? I heard tonight but I was, uh, let's say distracted and logged out after I bought my tickets.

Around 9pm or 10pm tonight. The time on the tickets were 24 hours later.

I did some quick math earlier and put it at 09:52 PM EST. Then I did it again, because 09:52 is a stupid ass time to have a drawing. And I was still right. Unless the raffle bucket times are like the migration times, in which case it'll probably be in November.

You hand 50000 silvers over, take your ticket, write your name on it then drop it in the raffle barrel.
>l in barr
There are 681 tickets in the ticket barrel.
681 x 50,000 = 34,050,000.

A huckster begins to spin the ticket barrel. After a moment, he stops it and pulls out a ticket. He examines it for a moment then announces, "The winner is Nexas!"
You see Lord Nexas Ta'Valor.
He appears to be a Vaalor Elf.
He appears to be youthful and tall. He has piercing crystal blue eyes and tanned skin. He has waist length, tied back golden blonde hair worn in a single braid. He has an angular face, an aquiline nose and slightly upswept pointed ears.
He has a thin black vaalin spike in his right eyebrow, and a soaring blue dragon tattoo on his arm.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a small veniom stud earring, a rune-etched white crystal amulet, some tooled leather crossed backsheaths, a cobalt blue leather satchel, a high-collared dark viperskin cloak, some scaled black leather gauntlets, some deep black rolaren scalemail, a shadowy black leather tool belt, a small cobalt blue belt pouch, some fitted snakeskin pants, a veniom bound orc hide ankle sheath, and some black cobra skin boots.

You can choose which weapon you want, three pures were sold, not sure how many impures they're doing.
Everyone should've picked bastard sword, IMO. Eight of those introduced into the game and no other weapon = Laughable.
