go read the signs.

unless you are talking about the old ones that just double strike and have air flares that can connect even if your swing misses.

Anyone have any info on the old ones? I happen to own one of the greatswords, been using it pretty steadily for a few months now, and am still having problems with it striking me, usually at a really bad moment i might add. I have been told it was based on your Influence score, but if anyone knows the particulars i would appreciate the info.

So 5% of the time at the LEAST it backblasts and whacks on you? Shit, that means what, two or three swings a hunt? Fuck that.

The "standard" coraesine ones don't do all of that though, do they? Just this special uber one?

Just the uber. Standard are 4x (I think) with double-strikes and air flares. No instant haste or anything else.

i have one of the old coraesine greatswords, 5x enchant, double strikes and air flares, and yes, it is a pain in the arse to have it whack me when i am trying to kill a troll king or a harb. Nothing like a 3 round stun, in offensive, while an enraged troll king tap dances on your head. Or some harb proceeds to bind, you for a few more rounds. However, for those times when it wallops them....heh...they feel the hurt, trust me. And if you get double strikes off of a mstrike, that's 4-6 hits with the same 11 second RT. So, yeah, it's worth the occasional smack in the head IMHO.

So why not group hunt? More fun anyway, and someone to bail you out when things go bad.

because a lot of the time i am on at off hours and Darkstone isn't a high traffic area to begin with. If i can find someone else there, i usually ask if they want to team up, (more bodies for the kings to swing at) and harbs one on one are a royal pain to begin with. Damn sonsabitches ward me near every time they cast. What i get for hunting 10+ levels over me head though. But i still think it is one of the most challenging areas that i can hunt at at my level. And i have a lot of fun doing it. Add in the occasional steed for favor, hell, life is good. Only complaint i have about it, i wish the steeds would gen a bit more. They are pretty damn scarce, and too often show up with a harb riding them. Nasty combination those two.
