Bonuses to Skill Ranks and Bonuses

If you select two different types of bonuses to be applied to your item, then the total bonus may be no more than 10 altogether. If you only select one type of bonus to be applied to your item, the the total bonus may not be more than 7.


If I were to get this for ranged Weapons Bonus and Ranks, how much would my skill actually go up. I am at 101 ranks now. Would this actually add +7 ranks, and then another +7 to the bonus on top of that? If anyone has these, it would be appreciated.

No, it would add 7 ranks, and those ranks would increase your bonus by 7. This is as opposed to the other tier (I don't remember which), which would add 0 ranks and +7 bonus.

No. How it works is this. I show you by example. Lets say you have 0 ranks in MoC and 200 ranks in hiding. If you get an enhancive for +4 bonus to MoC, it will only be +4 to the bonus which isn't even a rank. But if you got +4 ranks, it would be +20 bonus with the +4 ranks. But say you want to do hiding that has 200 ranks, there is going to be no difference in either, but 1 rank = 1 bonus after 50 ranks. So go with the cheaper.

I'm not sure you can do +7 ranged bonus and +7 ranged ranks on the same enhancive. You can't with adventurers guild badges I'm pretty sure. If you can though it should give you +14 bonus to ranged and I think that equals +14 AS. er.... but its capped at +10 bonus so it would be a waste.

I may as well just get the tier 2 since I am over 50 ranks, and I would get the same result?

Just went and looked at the site for myself. Teir/level 2 is bonuses and teir/level 4 is bonus and ranks. So you'd want to use level 4 for dodge or MOC if you were a pure and bonuses for things like spell aiming or lores. And yes the max you can get from either group is 7 or 5 and 5 if you chose 2 different bonuses.

So do tier/level 2 ranged bonus +7.

Agreed if thats an option. It looks like level 2 and 4 are just skills and level 1 is stats and level 3 is stamina and health.

That was sort of the plan, my Dex is already maxed, but I was going to work on another stat. But I checked the site again and you cannot even do that as an option.

Guess for the AS the level 4 is the better deal. Ranks will be more expensive to recharge down the road though. So if you can make it more bonus than ranks. +6 ranged bonus and +4 ranged ranks.

er your right. I remember it being a sliding scale. Looks like its 5 bonus per rank 1-40 ranks its deminishing till it gets to 140 bonus at 40 ranks.

It's +5 bonus per rank for ranks 1-10, +4 bonus per rank for 11-20, +3 for 21-30, +2 for 31-40, and +1 for each rank on.

They attune to the account, but any character within the account can use them.
