Best Threesome

Well I was looking in the PC for some current 'what's the best...' and the only one I could really find was http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=30616. Which as some good insight, but not really what I'm looking for...


What's the best 3 character group you can think of in terms of hunting ability? (assuming uphunting)

I assume you'd want a bard in there just for the uber 1337ness of their grouping ability... Arrows and hiding would be more of a hindrance than anything.

And I was thinking a Warrior just so they can take the hits.

Warders would be out, I think, because their stuff tends to be level based and their CS isn't typically high enough to uphunt very well (in earlier levels).

So what do you think? What's the best uphunting threesome you can think of?

Bard, Empath, Rogue for all around team.

Can kill with the best considering that bards and empaths are 2 of the best hunting classes in the game when trained properly, then a rogue with a bow is nearly as deadly, and can also open all your boxes and the bard can then sing as well.

I believe he said for Uphunting, +10 levels I'm assuming? So, in my opinion, this is the three I would take, and for various reasons...

Bard - Group AS boost, Group Haste, crowd control if needed, able to teleport group out of danger, increased group CMAN, able to break group stun, sancting ability

Paladin -More group AS boosting, group Damage boosting, group DS boosting, excellent CMAN ability, great at dealing damage and taking a hit, able to break own stun

Warrior - Even more Group AS boosting, best (tied with Rogues via there guild) CMAN ability, great damage dealing, able to break own stun, best ability to take a hit.

With those three, they should be able to quickly and effectively disable and destroy anything within 10 trains of them.

Any group is pretty much a win, picking the best group for your style is what takes time. I will explain mine more in detail.

Bard/Empath/Rogue

Any 3 characters can uphunt, regardless of profession when trained for it. It just so happens that Empaths and Bards are the 2 best hunters in the game when trained for it. Also Empaths can heal mid-hunt, bards can keep up a better mana regen, Rogues can open your boxes, Bards can sing to your gems, Bards can haste the Rogue, Bards and Empaths can sanct a room, Bards and Empaths can take you back to town if someone dies. When grouping 3 characters the problem won't be mowing down the critters, it will be with making the most profit out of it. If you were going for pure killing power get 3 Bards and have them all pures, or 3 Sorcs and have them use nothing but implosion.

If it's just one person controlling it, all you need are two characters: Bard and Rogue

Bard - spec'd to 1030, no other profession comes close to quickly / efficiently wrecking shit; purify basically doubles loot

Rogue - spec'd to 3x pick / disarm; imbed up to 120; 3 second eye shots; send mana

I was making absurd amounts of silver hunting a capped Bard in one screen and script picking boxes dropped off on the other with the Rogue. It got boring fast though.

Before MSTRIKE berserk it was a tossup but seriously that's a gamebreaker when you have all of them together. Empath has less group-boosting AS but Troll's Blood is a great group spell, especially when used with a warrior. You don't even need to stance once its up.

I usually play a bard or a wizard and my wife plays an empath. I know you said threesome but we do incredibly well as a twosome.. either bard/empath or wizard/empath.

All three of them together would be .. unstoppable.

Up-hunting with a cleric at cap is not as effective as almost any other pure. My cleric who is very well trained still has a hard time warding Sentries and GWE's on the second floor of the Temple without 240. I still stick to my original 3-way of a bard, empath, rogue. They can do everything. That group is completely self sufficient until someone dies, and that will only happen if you suck.
