Ok so in about two weeks me and my three girl friends are heading into NYC to spend the day. This is the extent of our planning so far, we will leave at 10 AM, return around 7 PM, we will visit Chinatown, Little Italy, and Fifth Avenue and we will lunch in Chinatown.

As you can see we aren't too thorough and in fact none of us have actually been in the city alone. So anyone have any suggestions as to places we should visit, how to get around, general tips, or anything else?

I was only in NYC for four days. I did all the REALLY touristy stuff. Might wanna check out Times Square, and I know most people are going to groan at this, but WTC memorial, it's intense.

You should get the local newspaper and see if they are holding any fashion shows or something of the like there. I guess when I was there they were having this show for up and coming design artists and were selling their stuff for dirt cheap. Unfortunately I was so fucking exausted she couldn't drag me out of the bed and we didn't go.

Have fun though, and don't freeze your ass off to badly!

Now that's it's been scrubbed clean, Grand Central Station is pretty impressive to see.

If I ever do visit NYC I would go see a broadway play. No matter what it was. Just to be able to say I had.

I saw Phantom of the Opera last summer, and MAN OH MAN did they ever BUTCHER it. The Phantom had his mic cranked up so high you could hear him breath and he had severe enunciation problems, Christine did that stupid warbling voice thing that I hate (and so did Meg! WTF!) but Raul (or whatever Prince Charming's name is) was alright.

Go hike up the Statue of Liberty. I remember (haha, not really) when I did it when I was like 4 and it was fun being at the top except I was afraid of heights so I didn't even touch the railing. It's a fun view in pictures, though, so if you're not afraid of heights it should be neat. Ignore the Empire State Building, it's boring.

Well we have been in the city before. We've seen about three broadway plays with our school (Cats, Showboat, and Phantom of the Opera). But this is our first time alone without anyone to guide us or tell us where to go and just us doing what we want.

You can't go to the top of the Statue of Liberty anymore, not since 9/11.

They said it's too dangerous to go to the top of it. That like it's decaying or something. And thankfully I've already been to the top of the World Trade Center. Not sure which tower....

If you were an anime-nerd I'd be able to tell you all the places in Chinatown that we go to, but, alas... you're not.

Nope! We wanna do some major shopping though. And just go everywhere. Plus where's a nice place to meet guys in the city? Since three out of the four of us are single, that may be something we could do.
