I don't see how it would/should do anything, quite honestly.

If it's a treasure system shield then I wager it's a bug, kind of like spiked robes. If it's not, then I'm impressed and a little dismayed.

im not really sure where it came from. i bought it from koops and its horribly ugly, but the resistance is extremely sexy, especially in Nelemars Temple where everything has a damn puncture weapon.

it pretty much works the same as resistant armor, whenever i get hit (punctured) it says "you shield partially deflects the onslaught" blah blah blah.

I also don't think it should work that way. Kind of like padding can't be put on shields, I don't think resistance should be there either.

I've got a spiked mithril greatshield around somewhere. And a disintegration flaring ora large shield.

heres an example. works the same with regular weapons as well as ranged.

Savinus nocks a whalebone arrow in his thanot long bow.
A mithril-bound red imflass aegis partially deflects the onslaught of the puncture attack.
Savinus fires a whalebone arrow at you!
AS: +273 vs DS: +192 with AvD: +20 + d100 roll: +61 = +162
... and hits for 7 points of damage!
Talk about a close shave!

The guiding force leaves Savinus.
The scintillating white light surrounding the arrow fades some.
The whalebone arrow is deflected to one side, sailing to the ground.

That is AWESOME. I also believe it is a bug. Going to throw it up on the officials and see what others make of it. Very cool. I bet that resistance wouldn't cut any of the bonuses of your armor.

i am curious about it myself, so if you want to post about it i don't mind.

but to keep the nerf bat away, it might behoove us to leave out who owns it and the shields actual description (make up a fake one or something). just a thought.

found a pretty nice one.

a mithglin greatshield.

adds 1 to AGI Bonus, 3 to CON Bonus, 4 to LOG Bonus, and adds to your TD.

still looking for more though.

Hakonne had a 10x tower with acid flares, but he sold it and I lost track of it. He also had an ..8x? permanent banshee flare shield too.

I found an aegis I think is like 3x and +6 to your warding if you want it, though I can't image 6 doing much for anyone.

Since it's a buggy shield, it probably does..

i'm pretty sure it would work with armor that is resistant to another type of damage (because the shields resistance wouldn't even come into play). i don't know if it would stack with puncture resistant armor, but i doubt it.
