Standing between a pair of columns is a marble statue of a graceful woman. Her billowing robes have been blackened by flame and a stump remains where her right arm broke off. Tiny shards of colored glass lay at her feet, blown in from further along the corridor judging by the irregular pattern they form. You also see a spectral triton defender and a crumbling arch.

Yet another reason why I never, ever, use berserk unless it is to break a long stun.

It would be freaking badass if they gave warriors massive bonuses if they are disarmed while beserk... it wouldn't be too unbalanced from my prespective (because, hell you could lose your weapon), but something like your fists swing like a claid weighted lance.

If you're going beserk and suddenly you're empty handed... you're going to rip someone's head off.

Or just gave you a nice AS bonus so you could hit things with your hand and given an increased chance to stun.

Meh. No need for massive bonuses. Just have them use pound, grapple and ensnare.

OOOooo, I like that even better, because the mechanics are there. Heck I think it'd even be valid if you did it without having to have to be disarmed (IE just beserking open handed). Although I'd be nice if they gave you your AS of your weapon prior to being disarmed (incase you're not brawling trained)

Honestly, there'd be no way any of that would happen. There'd be Pures and Semis crying foul that they didn't get there level 70 spell that wipes out everything in the room and the the rooms around that room.

Realistic or cynical in my views? Meh, either way, that Berserk change won't happen

I play a pure. I don't think I've ever felt jealous of anything a square can do. If it takes them getting disarmed to even pale in comparison to what pures can do, then well, I'll let that go.

No no, the point isn't that your feeling jealous about something a Square can do, the point is that if Berserk gets another upgrade, there will be Pures and Semis...not saying you...that will cry foul that there profession needs some upgrade as well

You mean, Berserk changes like this????

1. During the time in Berserk, the Warrior's HP is doubled.
a. As the warrior begins to lose blood, a counter is activated known as "The Rage".
b. During "The Rage", the blood counter rises with bloodloss, and every 2 point of bloodloss is added to the next attack during the Berserk.
c. For each rank of berserk ( cman style = 6 for a GuildMaster ) the Warrior has, is the amount of rounds the Warrior gains clarity AFTER the effects of Berserk are completed.
d. During the clarity, the Warrior has the chance to attempt to regain the bloodloss in the form of herb-eating and healing.
e. After the time of clarity is done, the extra health provided by "The Rage" is unleashed from the Warrior's body.

2. During the time in Berserk, the warrior ignores critical blows by magic.
a. Rank dependancy on warding spells, ie. A Guildmaster in Berserk has a 63% chance to ignore the effects of bind, webbing, unbalance.
b. Rank dependancy on elemental effects, ie. A Guildmaster in Berserk has a 63% chance to shrug off the additional effects of ball spells.
c. Mental spells such as Mind Jolt, Sleep, etc are completely ignored due to the overiding power of the mental stimulus of Berserk.

An example.

Auvreaian is supposedly a Berserk master in the Warrior guild.

In Berserk, Auvreaian's health will go from 133, to 266.

During the Berserk, Auvreaian is struck for 70 points of damage.

This brings Auvreaian's phantom health to 196. It also raises his AS by 35.

Auvreaian swings and knocks something into next week.

A arachnae servant attempts to cast web at Auvreaian. The percentile to ignore is akin to a hinderance roll done before the spell goes off.
It fails.

Auvreaian swings with normal strength, since no damage was done to him in the time of the previous swing.

The servant hits him for 30 damage, bringing his phantom health to 166.

A spider crawls in and hits him for 17 damage, bringing his health to 149.

Auvreaian hits his foe with an extra 23 AS, killing the servant.

The spider attempts to web him. Since it is a natural attack, and not magical, normal rules apply.
It succeeds.

Auvreaian loses his chance to attack, but the berserk breaks the web.

The spider swings and misses.

Auvreaian swings at normal strength since no damage was done to him between attacks, killing the spider.

Sensing no enemies, Auvreaian lets out a blood-curtling roar and the berserker's rage begins to settle.

Auvreaian has six rounds of battle ( 30 seconds ) to attempt to gain the health needed to survive the rage leaving his body.

Auvreaian has 149 health remaining, with 117 phantom damage. If Auvreaian does not heal himself, after the clarity is done, he will have 32 health.

Auvreaian eats acantha leaf. In 30 seconds, he is able to eat 5 bites, bringing his health to 199. When the clarity ends, he will have 82 health.

That's a fair point. Of all warriors guild abilities that could use a boost, Berserk isn't in much need.

Batter Barriers, on the other hand, sucks monkey dick.

I actually think warriors don't get too shafted as of now. I mostly play a warrior and I haven't played a pure. My only question to pures is...

~How often do you die or get hit?

~How quickly can you dispatch a swarm... soft RT? Hard RT?

~ What secondary skills do you have thats cool?

For my 89th level Giantman warrior the following:

~ I almost always get hit. But I usually don't die too often perhaps a couple of times a level. I die mostly from CMANs and warding spells.... oh but, the many times I do get hit bad it usually ends a hunt.

~ Im a fully MoC'd berserker. I dispatch a swarm of 3 or 4 grimswarms my age in 4-5 rounds of berserks usually. Thats about 20-25 seconds of time. I can kill more, but the time goes up a bit to finish stragglers. I can do a swarm of 6 slightly under a minute. I use 7x normal gear with GoS crit weighting, 7x heavy padded plate, 8x tower shield.

~ Sheath making is reasonably cool, but there exists better sheaths so not really marketable... I tried and failed to sell any sheaths. My only real ability that is in any demand is assessment of weapon weighting... but I usually do that for free.

For the price/time, Guild sheaths are awesome, especially for anyone who uses 2-handers or other heavy weapons.

Not that I expect people to be banging down your door for sheaths; most people who use them can make them or have friends who will make them at cost.

I hardly ever get hit while hunting, or even in a Grimswarm camp. I spelltank. The times I do die, it from either warding spells or spells with hidden warding rolls (IE: Implode, Major Ewave)

There is no such thing as soft RT for Warriors. Hard RT, I usually kill something in 5 seconds. Hasted feint, followed by hasted aimed shot. I've been known to walk around looking like a road map of level 1 wounds with a few level 2, still hunting with Sigil of Determination on

I can usually kill 3-4 Grimswarm in 2-3 rounds of Berserk. Less if I pop Surge and Sigil of Major Bane before hand. I use a 6x Perfect Mattock, sometimes with the GoS Crit Weighting, and a suit of 4x Heavily Crit Padded Plate

And, I've made some nice pocket change from Sheath Making, especially after the update.

Yes, Batter could use an update...too bad we can't learn CMAN Mblow, Sblow, and Sunder through Batter, since it seems like those skills would be associated with Battering something.

The update I'd personally like to see added to Berserk, is the ability to drop out early at a cost of Stamina. The closer you are to Mastering Berserk, the lower amount of Stamina you need to drop out before the 9 rounds is over...that would have saved Khariz the asshole clenching of nearly loosing that Mattock, and would also save other Warriors asses when it comes time that you don't break the web-bind-stun before it wears off

That'd be great.

Compensating for something?

I'll answer two questions (and one unasked question at once here):

Gnomad: Yes, I have a very small cock.

Rathgar, I'm bonded to another one of the items in the harness. The "massive rolaren mattock" is fully claid-weighted.

The one I almost lost is 5x perfectly forged. The veil iron one is 2 pounds, 8x, blessable, and can infuse fire or MD into the bless and it'll flare that on living and dead for the remainder of the bless (ironwright flares). The "massive vultite war maul" is 4x HCW maul, and utterly rediculous as well. That's some good compensation for my dick, I'll say.

And that only touches the surface of my two hander collection. Usually I have two greataxes in there too, a claid weighted one, and a 8x permablessed one. I was lazy that day.

What kind of sheaths are better except for the very very high end ones?
A 1/2 lb sheath that can hold a couple of large weapons and knock 2lbs of off them while there in the sheath? Or hell stuff it full of daggers or handaxes for a hurler.

:yeahthat: When the autoflarer was parked in the garden niche, I made a poor man's bandolier. I now have a warrior harness with five 4x fire-flaring handaxes that weighs a grand total of 10.5 pounds.
