...literally. My guy is still covered in ash. Anyway, I finally got my wiz transferred from the zone. Looking for an area to hunt in. Skeletal Lords and Horses don't cut it anymore, even with 516. Attempting my first enchant ever, right now I'm waiting for my 1x to 2x pour to cure. My reallocation ends on 2/28 and I have 4 stat reallocations left. Any suggestions?

Leopards and raptors, and trali all are in EN. You won't make anything hunting leopards and raptors unless you can skin. Trali have alittle treasure but don't count on busting the bank at the seems in that hunting ground but the learning should be good for you.

I took a chance and went to shan this morning. Safe to say it's my new favorite hunting ground. Nobody has any suggestions on my training though?

Your training looks good... only thing I find interesting is the 1 brawl train. ;)

That one rank of brawling helps my DS when Shan disarm me. I think its +50 DS open handed, good deal for the TP's.

Just my two cents:
LOG & INT seem maxxed too early.
DIS seems low.
If you plan on Enchanting, 1x in wizard spells - they are the biggest factor.
You do not need that many magical skills to use a runestaff safely, I do nicely with a +18 villswood staff at 9.25. I only 1x in MIU, AS, & HP. That gave me more than enough tps to 1x FA & Survival for skinning.
I do not miss the 1 mana per level I lose by singling in HP, Leech works well enough to make up for it and I can fry every hunt at like-level.
Also I stopped at 24 ranks EMC and have zero Lores.
Pick and choose from the above as you like, or disregard. :D

Nice to know I'm not the only one that has played Morrowind...

I played Morrowind for days straight. I was level 31 with a bunch of Druid gear (BEST IN GAME W00T).
Then it got stolen, along with my Xbox.

I like to think of myself as more of a Daggerfall person, but I enjoyed Morrowind too.

Anyone else try training in two-handers to use with Runestaffs? Tried it with my wizard, so far been working pretty good.

I know one wizard that's trained in two handers, won't pick up a staff though. He just eats things alive with haste and a flail.
Me, I can use a runestaff as well as a polearm but I don't like the idea of a war mage with a runestaff so I won't use one. If I do use one I'll change my title.

I've posted my training before and polearms rock for a wizard that's not afraid to dance and knows how to dispell a bolting creature. The key is to get the critter down and keep it there. Haste and tremors. I'll show my training and a few examples of me hitting things when I get home tonight or early AM.

Here:
Anticor (at level 51), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:

First Aid..........................| 152 52
Spell Lists
Major Elemental....................| 20
Spell Lists
Minor Elemental....................| 63

Wizard.............................| 20
Keep in mind I just turned lvl 51 by the middle of the lvl all the skills will be evened off nicely. The magic skills are enough that if I wanted I could use a runestaff with no trouble. Granted my bonus wouldn't be as good as someone that follows a pure magical training plan but it's still workable and I have the polearm option.

Standard kill after tremors:
You swing a black naginata at a massive black boar!
AS: +327 vs DS: +60 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +95 = +387
... and hit for 140 points of damage!
Knocked sideways several feet by blow to back.
The black boar lets out a final agonized squeal and dies.
The scintillating white light surrounding the naginata fades some.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
Roundtime changed to 2 seconds.

They don't hit you with their maneuver attacks?

They never have time. Tremors is instant with me as is tossing a fireball at a viper. I don't let something that can man attack stay upright or unstunned.
I've been hit occasionally with man attacks, I live most times, die sometimes. I'd say my survival rate is on par or slightly above anyone else in the area.

I dont understand how at level 51 your 909 will knock over a level 85 monster.
AnticorRifling
02-22-2004, 05:42 PM
909 knocks over anything, it doesn't give RT or stance the critter down but it will knock it over. The key to using 909 with effectiveness is to cast it right after the critter/opponent does something that causes RT I.E. swinging. Right after the creature swings I cast, this puts them on their back and with their own RT.
410 which gives RT is lvl based, 912 which causes RT and stances down is also lvl based. Neither are good for uphunting. 909 is if you can time it and know what you're doing.

So you're saying that you wait until the boar attacks and then you 909 it, but aren't you giving it time to use its maneuver attack on you?
AnticorRifling

Boars I 909 instantly, it's the ogres I wait on. Boars I can hit regardless of their stance. Ogres I will wait unless it's a mage prepping a spell I'd rather have it bolt me from it's back. Vipers I just either avoid or kill first because they will spit and posion me like it's cool.
