The Lusty Argonian Maid
by Crassius Curio
A (mercifully short) excerpt from Crassius Curio's bawdy play
Act IV, Scene III, continued
Lifts-Her-Tail: Certainly not, kind sir! I am here but to clean your chambers.
Crantius Colto: Is that all you have come here for, little one? My chambers?
Lifts-Her-Tail: I have no idea what it is you imply, master. I am but a poor Argonian maid.
Crantius Colto: So you are, my dumpling. And a good one at that. Such strong legs and shapely tail.
Lifts-Her-Tail: You embarrass me, sir!
Crantius Colto: Fear not. You are safe here with me.
Lifts-Her-Tail: I must finish my cleaning, sir. The mistress will have my head if I do not!
Crantius Colto: Cleaning, eh? I have something for you. Here, polish my spear.
Lifts-Her-Tail: But it is huge! It could take me all night!
Crantius Colto: Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time.

Hahahaha.
Oblivion is such a great game. Just had a price drop on the Xbox 360 to $30 with Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. everyone should pick that up!
I've played it through as a red guard fighter on the PC a few times and now on the Xbox I'm doing a Khajiit build around stealth and magic.

Seriously great game. Running an argonian stealth/magic/marksman build. Did the thieves and mages guild now working on main quest.
Next I want to try heavy armor/two handed fighters guild and arena.
Finally got the hang of the soul gem/enchant system and having fun with that.

I'm doing the Aid for Bruma quests, I freakin' hate Oblivion Gates. I get so lost sometimes. I got Orrin killed in Anvil, so thinking about playing from an older save spot, because he is one of the best fences.
I'm playing a Khajiit with Illusion/Stealth.
Yeah, doing the Aid for Burma quest as well. I don’t mind closing gates... its the multiple trips needed to fully loot them that gets kinda boring. I think I’m getting around 15k-20k a gate though.
How the hell did you get Orrin killed? rofl.

Yeah, I have the game on both the PC with all add ons, but I been playing on the 360, where I didn't buy them yet.
As for Orrin, well, I was a little impatient with using the wait command for the countess to come back down from her room in Anvil, so I decided to break in, and I was fine until I got a nice little 5 gold bounty for tresspassing. So I was running out and Orrin comes dashing out at tries to wtfpwn the guards. No go for him, sadly.
But I went back and re did everything so he lives now.
Oh and, shit, I don't even bother looting the gates anymore. If I need money, I just go to Rockmilk, that place is a goldmine!

Not sure how well the oblivion combat system would fare in an MMO... Age of Conan is about as close as it comes, and they pretty much fucked that up.
Now, if we had a version of Age of Conan that didn't blow, then awesome.

The next installment is rumored to be in Skyrim, which is north of where Oblivion takes place.
Just took down the main quest, not quite sure what to really do now. I've only have 2 quests left for the Thieve's Guild and a small handful left to the Fighter's Guild.
Anyone have any suggestions on really fun side quests? I've done a shit load of them, but I'm sure there has to be one I haven't yet that is killer.
Have you done the one where you have to steal the keys and assassinate the villagers?

================================================== =============================
4: Shrine of Mephala YOU MUST BE ATLEAST LEVEL 15 FOR THIS QUEST
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOCATION: Almost due south (SSE) of Namira's Shrine and almost due north (NNE)
of Vilverin, about midway between the two.
OFFERING: Nightshade. Again, wander the hills or visit the shop.
TIME: Between midnight and dawn.
REWARD: the Ebony Blade - Silence 10 seconds on strike
Absorb Health 8 pts. on strike
Charge 3700 / 45 uses
QUEST: The Webspinner, as she's also known, asks you to go to Bleaker's Way.
There are two families there, Nord and Dunmer. You are to kill the leaders
and plant evidence on the bodies incriminating the other families. "Allow no
one to see you commit these crimes", which isn't hard.
On a side note - This is murder and "forces unseen" will take notice.
Follow your map marker to Bleaker's Way.
In Hrol Ulfgar's house, he should be alone. Knock him off, he's a pushover.
On the second floor, on a table in a side room, you'll find the Ulfgar family
ring. Take it. On to your next victim.
Nivan Dalvilu. He's home, near as I can tell, between 6pm and 6am. Enter
the house and kill him. Plant the Ulfgar family ring on his body. On a table
to the right of the door as you entered is the Dalvilu Ceremonial dagger.
Take it and return to the scene of your first crime.
Plant the dagger on Ulfgar's body. At this point your journal should update.
Go back outside and find someone, doesn't matter who, and prompt the carnage.
Heh heh. Now, stand back and enjoy the fruits of your labor, a village wide
melee. Of course, you'll have to make sure it's 6am if you want to see the
fued.
Return to the Shrine for your reward. Mephala is pleased with the strife
you've caused and awards you her Ebony Blade.

This. There are a lot of jokes buried in them, a lot of odd stuff, and a lot of mayhem. Mayhem is good.
Also, have you done the mages guild? Some of the quests are annoying, but the staff that you get at the end kicks ass. Animating any dead guy and dragging him along behind you for a while? There are so many possibilities for that...

It's bad that I can think of the words "Hist sap" and "The Blackwood Company" that quickly.
I’ve been enjoying the Daedric Quests. Cool loot sometimes.
Been messing around with enchanting and made a sword with weakness to fire/frost/shock 50% for 1 sec, fire/frost/shock damage 10 for 1 sec, and soul trap 1 sec on strike. With 6x damage while sneaking its instadeath and the mobs go flying. It only has 18 charges fully loaded but with Azura’s Star it recharges itself.

I really like Oblivion but right now Fallout is getting more of my attention. For some reason I started getting bored with Oblivion because all the instances started looking the same. I like the Fallout char build better because I choose the training instead of it being automatic depending on use.

3 types of armor instead of 2 (Medium armor)
More armor customization (two different gauntlets instead of them being a set, different pauldrons)
The enviroment of Morrowind as opposed to Cyrodil
Imperial Legion faction (my fav)
Spear weapon types
10 Major and 5 Minor skills instead of 7 Major
Or, maybe those were it for me? I dunno. Also, the Dwarven Armor seemed more Dwarven...and, you could use any weapon above Steel (Silver, Ebony, Dwarven, Glass, etc) to kill spirits instead of Silver, Daedric, or something enchanted. I could list the cons against Morrowind, but what's the point?

I always preferred Morrowind to Oblivion, as well, though Oblivion was still a great game.
I just always felt Morrowind was... I dunno, smarter, and not quite as mainstream, than Oblivion. I also liked the story and setting with Morrowind better as well. There was almost infinitely more background story, intrigue, and overall ambiance that Oblivion was lacking almost entirely.
Plus, if for no other reason than it was always fun to have a maxed out acrobatics skill and be able to literally jump higher than a mountain. Made travelling a whole lot easier, that's for certain.

The only thing I enjoyed more with Morrowind is the story details. Oblivion has depth, but comparing to Morrowind, Oblivion gets blown away.
The one thing that I overall dislike about Oblivion is that a sneak build is always so superior, no matter if you choose magic, melee or ranged. I like what the team did with Fallout 3 concerning skills and leveling up. I hope with The Elder Scrolls 5, they find a happy balance with their beautiful engine, an intriguing yet simple level up system and more detail in story with such a vast world.

Anyone happen to know the finer details of the GOTY edition for PS3? I grabbed it from Gamestop a while ago, and I think the douchebags put the wrong disc in the case.
Case says GOTY Edition... guide inside case provides info on starting Shivering Isles (thus, GOTY Edition)... Game does absolutely nothing to open the Shivering Isles expansion throughout the course of the game (and I've waited well in excess of 24 hours; also tried just swimming throughout the entire basin).
Should I be breaking out the pitchfork and torch to return the game, or am I missing something?

Not entirely. Once you hit upper tiers in the levels (30+) you get pretty nuts. You can also make some sick enhancive items too. I enjoy making 100% camoflauge and killing entire cities. That's only when I want to mess around though.

I started playing this on the 360 at the beginning of the summer. I spent about the first two months leveling my guy up (+5 every time) in a hotel room while I killed those imp things that get summoned by the cursed staff. It was a huge PIA, but it's massive fun having a character maxed in blade, destruction, marksman, sneak and a bunch of other skills. It gets kinda boring killing the same creatures over and over again though.

Well, I've got kids, so I was only playing an hour a day every other day on average. But yeah, the woman was mocking me constantly. The thought of having a gimped build just irks me, so I wanted to do it right. Hopefully their next game's leveling system won't eat at my obsessive side so bad.
EDIT: And it's more like max/max than min/max. The only stat I didn't bother getting to 100 was personality, and I was at least an expert in all the skills I cared about.

This is what I do, sans hotel room and imp. The frozen guys at Peyrite's shrine are perfect for leveling weapon skill(s) of choice - they don't move, don't die, and don't call the guards on you. Just manuever one into a corner where the strikes won't push them further, and go to town. I make spells for the schools of magic that I have interest in - quick, 1 second 2 mana spells just to cast over and over. I usually spend a few days getting to level 25 or so (with 3 +5 stat bumps each time) before I do anything other than the mage's guild recommendation quests. At that point me and my rusty iron or fur armor go to get Azura's star. You get enchantable glass/ebony/daedric stuff, a soul gem to use, and a crapload of entertaining arrows. From there, whatever.

Oblivion's skill up system is a grind. But it's not a huge deal. I'll go back to Oblivion once I rock out some more Fallout 3. I picked up all the DLC, so working on the new quests.
Easiest way to build your sneak in Oblivion is to go to the Legion Bastion in the Imperial City, crouch and tape your control moving towards the wall and let it run for a few hours.

Utterly pointless really as the baddies increase in power relative to your own. So eventually random thieves carry gear you can't buy even in the best shop. The game is as easy to complete running through it as it is doing everything.
