So, as almost by consensus by the people on these boards, bards are way overpowered. Especially with post cap EXP. Should they be toned down a bit?

Or are you just retarded?

You should have another category.

No: Because we are tired of the small minority walking around whining that a profession/Society/Spell/Cman/Skill etc is to powerful therefore it should be NERFED! Hear me roar because I am l33t and I said so!

Please enough with the polls.

Are you noticing a trend? I am. Bards and Empaths are both among the best professions in the game. They are also among the most useful. They are trying to encourage people to play service related professions. I doubt they will do anything to damage that any time soon.

If anything, expect further development for Clerics/Empaths (a safe bet with Estild and Oscuro as GMs). Now all they need is someone to be giving rogues some much needed love. They may be an extremely viable class, but they are a bit stale. Pick pocketing needs revamped, CMANs need further review, and group hunting for stealth builds needs help as well.

QFT.

Was just about to say this until I saw Fallen had already.

Agreed:
I would rather they give the neglected classes some attention versus listening to someone whine that one class is more ubber l33t than an other.

Damn skippy. Any time spent nerfing a profession could be much better spent improving another. This game isn't stagnating because one class or another is too powerful. That is for damn sure.

They pretty much ignore any profession builds when you put "post-cap experience" in them. With enough experience, there's no way to contain the PWNAGE.

Besides, there's what, 12 active bards? If anything it seems like people need encouragement to play the damn class.

Rather than wailing about getting this class or that class nerfed, why not go play Age of Conan or the like instead?

On bards: Even during normal levels, a pure singing bard is insane. That's the problem with mutant training paths, since the game doesn't account for them, usually they're pretty damn effective. Limitless mana with Song of Unravelling is the way to hunt. Like Mana Leech but no diminishing return cooldown!

On Clerics: Their 1-20 spell list is missing a spell. Poor guys. Not that I ever even play my cleric anymore with Kaedra back on the main land. She's there before a corpse even hits the ground. It's really, really annoying.

On Rogues: From what has been posted, group hiding mechanics would require a complete re-write of some of the very core code concerning player movement and grouping. That's a tall order. I would love to see it, but I don't think it's a realistic expectation anytime in the near future, unless they can flash-clone a few dozen DEV coders.

On croissants: Damn those things are delicious.

On seldom played professions: Yes. Anything to encourage more bards and clerics would be great.

On seldom played races: Again, anything to encourage playing as some of the 5 new races, and not a dark elf would be good. Actually, just disable dark elf character creation for a few years. We're full up on them with the exception being if you want a dark elf bard or cleric, then you can roll it. Ever tried playing a gnome? It's horrible. The encumbrance is such a killer, same with halflings.

at least halflings get the TD bonus which can be a deal breaker.

This isnt world of warcraft. Simu doesnt have 500 programmers at their disposal to help with everyday balance tweaks. Bards are not OPed, or else you would see tons of them. As already stated by someone else, there are what 12 active bards in the lands?

That being said, I agree with the popular sentiment that even if they WERE overpowered which theyre not, with Simu's problems I'd much wrather they focus their energies on new content and improvements wrather than going back and nerfing old code. Just look at the year end 2008 goals list. Not looking so hot.

Lets let them finish Monks and some new hunting areas before we start whining about class balance issues, again, of which I think there really arent any. Most of the classes are pretty balanced.

Also, Kranar:

Can you tweak the ability to hash out reputation to like ... 250+ posts and a forum time of at least six months or something? It bothers me that someone has more free time than I do.
