Would like to see soemthing here. Overtraining in armor should grant you something, just like overtraining in spell circles or lores or what have you gets you something. Just for those of us who are capped and got nothing better to do.

Maybe increases in CvA, lowered AvD when attacked, great encumberance reduction?

How about benefit to redux? It already does that.

Yep secondary skill for redux.

Not really. A fully trained level 100 warrior with 2x weapon skill, armor 160 ranks, 2x cm, 3x pf, etc, has redux at such a plateau, that even 75 more armor ranks makes no appreciable difference in the redux percentage.

Maybe if you overtrain armor in low levels before you cap all of your other skills you'd see a benefit, but I don't think so, as for the same cost, you could train three other redux affecting skills.

If they were to CHANGE armor use to give an appreciable effect to redux when overtrained, I'd be willing to do it.

I can sort of see the op's point. Although Armor use gives the same redux bonus as weapon and CM and such, it doesn't provide any further benefit, whereas the others do.

It'd be kind of neat if overtraining helped you with dodging a little.

... armor 160 ranks ...

Why 160?

All I know is I 3x til level 45 which gives me the 140 ranks I need to wear full plate.

I'd rather 3x PT and Dodge anyway.

I'll say what I've said on the officials that still won't get implemented:

Warriors are used to receiving non-Empath-like damage from BATTLE. Battle in Middle Earth, Elanthia, consists of more than just swords and arrows. A GameMaster who CARES about GemStone could start coding Warrior benefits for damage (crit) reduction from voids, fire, ice. And not just crush/puncture/slash.

Of course, that would require an overall less level of GAY, which includes (but is not limited to) these Lysander clones spontaneously appearing and making threads to argue against their own agendas.

do you need to train extra to wear greaves and helms and such on top of plate, or can you just stop at the 140?

The problem with warriors is their post-cap development. Armor Use could be a great way to marginally mitigate the above problem.

I would recommend overtraining in Armor Use allows a warrior to use armor like soft, rigid, chain armors without getting totally fucked by CvA or Crit Divisor; not every warrior trudged around in full plate. Like any Tehir warrior would be caught in full plate, you know, IN THE DESERT.

It's just lame that, mechanically, if you don't use plate as a warrior you're crippling yourself.

You need to see what a profession with major cold, screw ATTUNE, can do behind the door in three seconds what it takes a Warrior an entire week of hunting wind wraiths to get enough favor so that courage might give him/her that extra edge.

There needs to be an overall elemental damage tone-down for Warriors. All the GM hirees have been on the assembly line for fluff dev'ing. It's what it is.

Edited to shit out: One incident of lameness in an ocean of lame-a-tude, or what I like to call "complete and utter shit", yes. Saying the one thing that's wrong with Warriors is like saying ... "Don't worry, once you reach level ~70, you instantly cap and get to stay out in The Rift, which is why my name is Lysander."

The 160 was a drunken mistaken. Pardon.

Fifty lashes with a dirty Twizzler. Assume the position.

I tend to agree, a little extra bump for armor use could go a long way, but we'll never see it.
