After being turned town by Notre Dame Law School, I received my first acceptance letter today.

I was offered a spot at Drake University Law School for Fall '09. Extra icing on the cake is they offered me a $23,000 a year scholarship as long as I stay in the top third of my class.

2 places down waiting to hear from 6 more schools

Congrats! The extra 23k is a nice incentive to pull that GPA up.

Congrats. It's nice to get that first offer.

Too bad about the ND ding. I know you wanted to go there.

ND sucks.

Congrats however and nice score on the scholarship. I know you'll be a proper college slut and make many men happy.

Congratulations! It's always nice to have more than one acceptance to play off each other but getting money right off is wonderful.

I purposely have not reactivated my account because I know if I did, I wouldn't get anything done at school.

Actually, I want to apologize to you. I just finished law school yesterday by taking my very last exam. I don't wish the experience on anyone. Okay, no, it wasn't that bad. I actually had a little bit of fun.

I can't wait for the lovely experience of taking the bar.

Oh great, another soon-to-be lawyer on the forums. Just what we needed.

Seriously though, congratulations.

Speaking of said jackets... does anyone remember wearing those jackets in highschool with your varsity letter?

Man the 90's sucked.

They don't do it here. It would be complete social failure.

Oh yeah. All the high school kids here wear theirs to the mall. Even if it is summertime there is some idiot wearing his to show off whatever sport he plays.

I could really care less if the dumbass swims the 100m free. It isn't coat season so take the damn thing off!

I think that is a mid western type of thing now. Anyone that lives on either coast that still has teeth (sorry VA) would never wear one.

Very well could be. I have lived my whole life in Iowa and Illinois....except for when I went to Florida and Disneyworld(land) whichever one is there but I don't think that counts.

Oh, I see, you never got a varsity letter.

I am totally going to the mall in my letter jacket and class ring to pick up chicks. I'm not really sure how to say this, but I'm kind of a big deal.

But in all seriousness, letter jackets have been around since like the 50's.

I dunno, Sean. You still seem to keep mistaking us for West Virginia. I think certain parts of Florida almost out-hick Appalachia.

I wore my varsity academic team jacket, bitches.

Hey I never said I didn't wear mine... or give my jersey to a girl to wear on fridays.. I just thought that shit died in the 90's.

Oh shit if I gave my jersey to a girl my coach would have had my balls. We weren't even allowed to eat in them.

We always wore our jersey to lunch and gave whatever one we weren't using to our girlfriends.

They used to make us huge vats of spaghetti on game day. wtf was that about. Carb crash?

I see high school kids wearing their varsity jackets once in a blue moon. Usually only football players.
